EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

Funny how issues like not worrying about hiding views of outside the park, leaving big blue show buildings and backstage in plain view, etc. are no big deal in one case and everything is a sign of penny pinching in the interests of corporate greed in the other.
I really don't care about sight lines. I will say appears when you go through the portals in EPIC, you are immersed, like you are in the harry potter lands in the other two Universal parks in Orlando.

I have hears the views from the top of the Stardust racers coaster are not good. Perhaps they could have the coaster go through a tube to block the view from way up there. Maybe that was some cost cutting corporate greed not to have tubes to block the view? ;);););)

I'm in this line of work, and I can tell you it is very, very difficult to make rooftops of these large warehouse buildings look presentable. There are certain utilities that need to be up there, and aesthetics are not a consideration when those are built. The view from the top of Splash is a masterful job of concealment using trees and other obstacles, but the old MK Skyway for example... not so much. Stardust is probably so high there weren't many tricks available.

Back to Test Track/WOM... I also find it interesting that both rides had/have both an outdoor and indoor portion.

Is it possible we now board outside like it's 1983?

He's deflecting. The discussions about sightlines haven't been about what is visible from the top of Stardust Racers.

Anyway, the new cars look fine to me. We'll see about the ride itself, but we all knew the ride system was staying the same and I don't know why it would need all-new ride vehicles given the concept is also apparently pretty much the same. Hell, the name is the same!

If a ride vehicle changing color is considered "theme parks going astray" then it's not about being critical anymore, it's just competitive complaining
I hope they do as little as possible and keep the work to aesthetics

If they just make aesthetic changes I am confident they will reopen and operate with no issues.

Not to play devil’s advocate but I think there is a valid point to be made in the fact that the new cars are objectively less themed than the old ones. In a theme park theme does tend to be important. Not worth bickering about until we see the complete product though.

To me, the new cars look like how I would actually expect “test cars” to look. Not too flashy, just trying to test out how the vehicle shape drives.

I sure they said in the video that they're now themed to R & D cars of the 2020s.

They should have done the black gray and white "camo" look that they put on test vehicles when driving around the real world. I always find them funny because they really don't hide much about the design.

Especially if they are keeping the "design you car" element - makes sense that the actual physical cars would blend into the surrounding more and be like a "blank canvas"
