EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

With they way they've pushed "Spirit of Optimism" I think it's going to be less "History of Transportation" from WoM and more "Man it's great to own a vehicle and this industry is doing incredible things for the car of the future" from WoM. I think that's still a solid concept and plenty of potential for it to be the best version of TT.
Which I'm fine with. I hate how cynical society is so any sort of optimistic outlook on our future is very welcomed

Walt Disney Imagineering has shared another behind-the-scenes look at a Cast Member working on the Test Track reimagining:

It doesn't look like they're anywhere close to being done with this, though I guess the video could be from any time in the last month or two. September, perhaps? I was really hopeful for July soft-openings.

Yes that’s exactly who this is geared to. The average guest will ride it for the thrills. Same as before.
This is confirmed by the fact that the ride retained its popularity after the change to 2.0 which took out a ton of story that made sense and replaced sets (albeit crude, cheap sets) with Tron style projections.

The worst section of 2.0 was where 1.0 had the with and without anti-lock brake demonstration. Not that it felt "real" but at least the section made sense. In 2.0 there was just a wiggly section and then a straight section for no apparent reason.

I guess by the time 2.0 came into existence, a demonstration of driving without ABS made no sense because it was mandatory to have them. The only vehicles without ABS are purpose built race cars.

I honestly wouldn’t expect many updates on a project like this. It’s probably largely the same ride with new setpieces, and since there is likely nothing character-driven, you won’t get a social media post like you did when Te Fiti was placed in Journey of Water. My expectation is about the same as with Big Thunder, where I anticipate an announcement of the dynamite scene toward the end of the refurbishment and nothing more.

That's a shame, cause they really hyped this at D23 a few years ago. This is why many have doubts with Imagineering doing things as well as planned.

I don’t mean that the end result won’t be an improvement over what came before, just that there’s likely nothing of it that lends itself to social media posts in the current climate where they’re all about previewing a particularly impressive A-1000 or gushing about character-related details.

Did you not pay attention to the sets or narration at all? They pretty clearly explain what both of those areas were converted into
