Test Track Question

Yes it's my opinion and what do you think makes your opinion superior to mine? Or do you believe anyone is more interested in your opinion about my opinion about a ride? Did I write that my opinion ist the only one that counts?
These boards are about bringing in your opinion and BTW without annoying those you don't share your opinion so perhaps you should watch out how you behave.

No one said your opinion did not matter or was not welcome. You are more than entitled to express it, just as others are equally entitled to express theirs. That's what these boards are all about. As for me, I'm afraid on most thrill rides, but I love that rush of speed at the end of Test Track, and that is no more or less a valid opinion than yours or anyone else's.

I don't think the poster said or even made any subtle reference to his opinion being superior to yours. Relax. It was a quote from a movie...

Then he should have made that clear, I didn't identify it as a movie quote and after some bad experiences here in the last days I am fed up with unpoliteness.

I agree completely, Test Track is absolute crap , like it makes me wonder "what were they thinking?". I don't even drive and I don't find it thrilling at all, the only mildly fun part is the beginning of the indoor tests.

I've never been on WoM, but judging by videos I can safely say that that was the superior ride.
They were thinking. "We need an attraction that will attract hordes of guests, day after day, for years on end." The average theme park guest does not respond that way to well done, edutainment themed, omnimovers. They do however respond that way to an attraction that makes them go "Weeeeeeeee!!!!!!!".

I don't get the hatred. No it's not a super "thrill" ride, but it is a fun ride. I'd rather sit on this ride for 6-7 minutes with some thrill at the end, rather than say, Winnie the Pooh. I think Test Track was an amazing ride, especially the first time I rode it.

Yep but that doesn't mean there are only nice and friendly people here, I thought that once too. I have already read some very unmagical commentaries.

Taking a very generic response and assuming it is drooling with venom is also not very productive.....it goes both ways, just because you have seen some not so friendly posts recently, doesnt mean everyone is attacking others.

Enless the specific person you quoted earlier had prior posts to suggest he was being rude.....then if so, i apologize.

Test Track was suppose to be a more extreme thrill ride until they realized the e-stop would be to extreme, to many G’s. It is already fairly intense when your are on the lap and the cars e-stop.

Back to the topic at hand, I do think Test Track is missing a little something. I mean, it is a pretty cool ride IMO, I love it, and still ride it often, but I agree it's just not.....perfect. Which isnt a terrible thing. But something is missing.

I really like test track and for the most part all the other rides at epcot as well. I don't mind boring rides, rides that fall into B-mode occasionally or rides that aren't as good as the one's they replaced.

If a certain ride isn't your cup of tea, that's cool too!

Test track is a complicated ride and most of the time some part of it will be in B-mode: on-board computer screen, speakers, brake cones, braking cameras, semi-truck, etc.

I still enjoy it and will continue to ride it until they replace it.

Which IMHO is still one of the most boring rides in WDW, the major thrill being an acceleration to, what, 65 mph for 5 seconds? I can have that every day on the Autobahn. And the entire testing section is a joke. The "heat room" not much hotter than an average august day in Central Florida, the "cold room" not colder than an average air conditioned US-restaurant, not to talk about the "corrosion room". World of Motion was not that big kind of attraction but it was still far better than this wannabe-thrill ride. I did it twice, first with a FP to experience it and a second time in EMH in the morning to videotape it for my GF to show her how boring it really is and the she missed nothing, I will never ever do it again.

The major thrill is that the “cars” are made by GM. In reality, the attraction is not made by GM but the theme of the ride is that you are in a GM built automobile. Riding around in any GM built car at speeds of 65 MPH is pretty scary. The only thing that would be scarier is if the cars were built by Chrysler!

The Test Track vehicles are complex and also old, cut out audio and video is common. Hopefully this will be changed very soon as I some people have talked about a rehab soon.

Good point, Richard...a bit depressing, though :(

1. For the heatroom, would u want it to feel you where on fire??
2. would u want to be wicked freezing in shorts and a tshirt??
3. its suppose to show you what cars go through to be road legal.

I can't comment on 3, but i can tell you that there's some serious heat in some other attractions at WDW. Specifically, the Backlot Tour has a Catastrophe section which blasts you with wicked heat from fire. Not to mention the heat from the Inferno barge and even Fantasmic. So it's nothing we aren't all experiencing already. As for freezing in shorts- 3/4 of the year i would LOVE to be cold at the parks (tshirts and shorts regardless). The problem is that there are way too few cold places there. The only times i've ever found myself too cold is in the harshest of winters (like 2010 where it went down to like 20 degrees).

No one here talked about intense rides. It's not about intensity. It's about the sub-par theming and ride design. That's why TT will never become a classic like PotC, HM, EE etc. which are not exactly intense either but extraordinarily themed, designed and full of immersive atmosphere.

Could not disagree more. TT has pretty good theming and its a great idea, let guests experience being crash test dummies. The idea was genius. Could the ride be better? Of course, but your dead wrong about the theming. Also TDO did a pretty amazing job using the existing building and converting it to TT.

Hi! I have a question. When we were at EPCOT on June 1 and 2, after the ABS segment, the audio turned off the rest of the ride. I heard other cars with audio though? Anyone know more?

Each car has its own audio and as stated, yours was broken. Those cars are all in need of some serious overhaul which I'd like to see happen soon as its one of my favorites (tame or not). Most likely, if you let the CM at the end of the ride know they'll let you skip the line and ride again in a different car. They let me do it once when I had a broken car. :)
