Tell Me Why You Hate Spring

I am feeling somewhat crabby tonight and felt the need to share it with you good people.

I have basically had it up to here with all the sappy, "I love spring" drivel.

Here's your chance to tell us why you hate spring.

I'll start

Even though I don't have allergies, and I understand that people who do have them suffer terribly with them, everyone suffers. I know you hate the constant sneezing and sniffling, but it's no picnic listening to it either.

If you are in college, spring is crunch time for projects, papers, and finals. Woe be to the poor souls writing and defending a thesis or dissertation, or those taking licensing exams.

...I'll be back with more.

allergies!! i'm usually pretty miserable during the spring. i hate it. i wish the seasons would go from winter straight to summer...with maybe a week of spring in between.

and yes, finals. 2 more weeks of school left for me, which means the pressure will build a little more each day until the last day or two. and then i have to find a job...growing up is SO much fun...:brick:

I like Spring... sorry, I don´t have a reason to hate it here. No allergy season, and it´s hotter than in Winter :D but cooler than in Summer :D

:animwink:  Don´t get sick Yellow Shoes!

DMC-12

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
The Tree Pollen and everything makes me sneeze a bit more... but its much better than dealing with the Negative 20-30 degree wind chills I have to put up with in the winter while walking downtown or waiting for a bus or train.

Yeah, I'm completely the opposite of a lot of people. They look forward to the time change (BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO make me lose my hour of sleep!!) and the sun, and the warm weather. Yuck.

I grew up on an island in the South Pacific where it was in the '80s everyday and there was sun and tropical breezes and you'd hang out at the beach or the waterfalls. YAWWWWWWN.
I thought it was sacrilegious to see Santa on a surfboard.

So when I moved to foggy San Francisco, pure heaven!! I just love it when the fog starts to roll over the hills. Now I'm so whiny I start complaining when the temps hit 67 degrees. And I can't stand the sun. It makes me lethargic and depressed. But when it's foggy or overcast and cold, I want to go out and do stuff.

You certainly are the opposite of A LOT of people! :hammer:

San Francisco in early September made me so depressed! I couldn´t believe the amount of fog and how freaking chilly it can get right when you turn the street! bbbrrrr! (Still a beautiful place to visit though - been there twice already) :animwink:

:sohappy: :sohappy:

Sunny weather is boring! Overcast or cool or rainy days have so much more personality.

You should come for a visit again in Sept. Last fall was one of the hottest on record. I mean it was reeeealllly abysmal. The thermostat didn't go below 90 in SF for a couple of days. And last month we had a freak heat wave breaking records all over the place. This might be pessimism talking, but I think we're in for a really hot year if not the beginning of another drought.

I was there last September! (first week). You gotta see my outfits on your 'hottest' days! I should have taken a picture of people swimming at Ghirardelli Square! The wind was sooo chilly at 4pm! :animwink:
Midnight from the hotel we were near Union Square (can´t remember the name :brick: ) was very impressive because the fog looked like smoke (smog?) and we couldn´t see daylight in the early a.m. During the day it was nice because the sun was shining, but around 5pm, the wind was unbearable! I thought it was only me, but some canadian tourists were freezing just as we were too! (made me feel a bit better - lol) :animwink:

Oh, and I still haven´t seen the Golden Gate Bridge in full! In both my trips it was the same! Fog, fog and fog! Looks cool though, but I would have liked to see it complete! ...bummer...

If you'd come a couple weeks later you would have been in heaven. During the heatwave I would get up extra early to get to work because my office was fully air conditioned. This being SF most apartments aren't air conditioned. If I didn't have my portable air conditioner, I would have jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge just to cool off.

well i do agree with that... it got so hot here that ppl who lived on the 6th floor would find refuge here on the 1st because it felt like a sauna up there. it was quite amusing

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Apart from the red itchy eyes, the constant sneezing, the inability to breath the exam panic in the Sak household, the garden springing to life and becoming overgrown almost over night, it is indeed a trully wonderful time of the year.

My "pet peeve" you could say about Spring is all the people saying "Spring is coming," and then on the first day of Spring "It's Spring!" and they are expecting the temperature to be 75 degrees and sunny.

The best thing about Spring? Around here (the Philadelphia area), Rita's Water Ice! :D
