Tell me about September

I have been to Disney many times but always in the Winter or Spring. This year, my first trip back in 8 years will be from 9/15-9/20. If anyone who has been there at/near that time could tell me about their trip, I would truly appreciate it! Where did you stay (we will be at Sports), How crowded was it? How quickly did the busses run? I read on one of these forums that there is really no need for fastpass due to the parks being not terribly busy. I don't know if I buy that! When I was booking our room Pop and the all the All stars were pretty much booked up (though I am sure they are the first to fill due to the price).
So, please share any information you have about that time of year at the parks!

Thank you!!

It's Touringplans.com, but you have to pay for access to that part of the site. Price is under $10/year. Not plugging it, just answering your question. I felt silly shelling out to pay for access since we don't go on vacation very often, but it's a helpful site.

It is free if you have the current book. You just have to enter words on certain pages and it will bring it up.

It looks like you can see the numbers for free about a month out of your trip - I looked on there recently for the same reason, but call me cheap, I didn't want to sign up. So I put an outlook reminder to look at the website 30 days out - I am such a geek! :ROFLOL:

Ha!

Sorry i have to answer just the thread title.

Septemeber has 30 days, and fall begins. It is the 9th month of the year, and has my birthday. It also contains the birthday of Baseball hall of Famer Mike Schmidt and many other famous people. It now contains a holiday called Patriots day as well.

LOL! You rock! You did forget one important day... National Talk Like a Pirate Day (which happens to fall on my birthday).

I went last year for the week of Labor Day. It was pretty warm to me. I found that the crowds really dropped after Labor Day. The lines after that went really quick.

For my family it includes the birthday of my mother, my DD, and my FIL - Each on the same day of the week - but thankfully different weeks! How bizarre is that.

Seriously though. I've heard the crowds have been down this year thanks to gas prices. The value season begins the third week of August. I'd assume unless you'll be there the weekend of labor day, it'll probably be around a medium crowd when you'll be there. Southern schools will be back in schools almost a month. It'll probably be some people finishing up their trips and the fall season people.

We have gone in September many times.

It is still quite hot, but if you want to swim or do the water parks - that works out great!

I HATE the lovebugs, but others don't mind them so much. I know they are harmless. Unfortunately, you can't really predict them.

The crowds are not bad, IMO. But crowds/lines are relative. If you have ever gone in the summer, then they seem great in September. We always go in the "off-season", and it seems like September has been getting a little more crowded over the last few years. I am guessing it is the free dining. It seems to be more people with young/pre-school children. It isn't as nice as the winter (IMO), but it is better than the spring.

I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Your trip will be overlapping with mine! I have been there in the Fall before and it is always MUCH less crowded than spring. I don't think many families want to take their kids out of school since it is the first month back (for us in the North East anyway). I will be taking my kids out of school during that time but I am guessing I am a rarity.
