Counter proposal: we just do Muppet versions of every book

Lmao, I imagine Kermit as Darcy and Piggy as Elizabeth in the Pride and Prejudice sequence, and the scene in the ride is the first proposal scene, which quite frankly, didn't go so well:

I feel like Islands of Adventure is begging for this attraction. It’s supposed to be a park tied to literature after all. We could place it in the Port of Entry.

Looking at the map on Google Maps, it seems the only space left for a ride building is behind the Christmas Shoppe? I figure this would be the location of the literature ride then?

For the six genres, I was thinking adventure, mystery, horror, romance, science fiction, and fairy tale.

How does that sound? Do those six seem general enough to allow a variety of choices there?

Maybe replace Science Fiction with Fantasy? Or just add fantasy all together.

I’d replace horror with fantasy in my opinion, just because we’re trying to make a family friendly ride

I think Fantasy can be found in either fairy-tales or adventure, it's not needed as its own category imo.

A little bit of scare wouldn't hurt them, I think, as long as the reference material is kid-friendly at the very least.

Great Movie Ride still had Alien. It doesn’t have to be poop your pants scary but I think horror is still an important genre

Indeed. I was thinking more of a focus on atmosphere for horror, instead of any graphic or horrifying imagery.

Yeah I’m thinking more in the context that IT and The Shining had both been mentioned... goosebumps makes more sense to me, but I think Stephen King, as great as his books are, doesn’t make sense in a family friendly attraction beyond small homages or whatever

Oh, yeah. Definitely no Stephen King. I'd think more Edgar Allan Poe for this ride.

Or for a more modern author, Neil Gaiman? I'd love to see a Coraline scene in the ride (as long as we agree that we won't use Other Mother's actual form, that would be great).

I think Fantasy should be it’s own genre. There are many classic fantasy books that don’t contain elements of adventure or even fairy tales. I also wish we could include a general Children’s book section for books like Paddington or the Giving tree. Are there any notable science fiction books that would call for it to have a whole section in the ride?

There’s a ton of great classic sci-fi stuff that I think makes it worthy of its own section, but Verne is just the first one that comes to mind

Haha I definitely see 20,000 Leagues more as sci-fi
