Team Prospero Brainstorming Thread - Project Eight: New Islands, New Adventures

I’ve never been in one of these competitions before so I don’t know the answer to this... but is DC not super overused in these competitions?

It is and it isn't. I was on the fence about it until I saw the judges talking about it in their thread. I just think that it's a fairly natural transition and I'm a huge DC fan, so I know that there is a ton that can be done with it. Especially if we don't focus entirely on Batman.

I think there’s a lot of other characters to explore for DC outside of Batman... a Golden Age Justice Society of America land would be a dream come true

I think staying away from Nintendo would just be because of Epic Universe... some of those other options you named could be cool

I mean Epic Universe has Harry Potter. As well as both of the other Universal parks.

We're on the same page lol. Granted, I'd adore a Batman E-ticket, but there's also room for JSA, JL, Green Lantern might make a cool dueling coaster. Point being, the possibilities are endless.

Haha, it just has such a great cast... Flash, Green Lantern (my favorite versions of those two), Sandman, Spectre, Hawkman, Atom, Mr Terrific, etc... that would be an epic land

Maybe a Hannah-Barbara land? Due to the upcoming Hannah Barbara cinematic universe and the recent release of Scoob!, it may attract an old audience as well as a young one.

Haha, it just has such a great cast... Flash, Green Lantern (my favorite versions of those two), Sandman, Spectre, Hawkman, Atom, Mr Terrific, etc... that would be an epic land

We could always going existential and do Gaiman Sandman lol.

My thoughts would be to separate the land between Gotham and Metropolis, since they're the most well-known settings in the comics. Maybe two e-tickets, a coaster, and two flatrides. We could also extend into Toon Lagoon a bit and take over the theater that's been closed for like 15 years.

Agreed... I think removing it from all the major DC heroes and locales people recognize immediately would be a good move... as far as like Superman/Batman goes... we don’t wanna go deep diving too far into DC’s archives lol

Batman E-Ticket, Justice League (or society) E-ticket, Superman coaster, and flat rides for Green Lantern or Wonder Woman?

I'd be down to do video games, but why should we stay away from Nintendo? Universal already has the license and they've proven that the same IP in multiple parks can be successful with Harry Potter. Honestly, between Zelda and Pokemon, they kind of write themselves.

I was thinking more in the future of Nintendo in all three parks (should've been more clear on that) and it might be a bit too similar to that leaked concept map for the Fun Zone (docking creativity points).

But looking at it again it really doesn't do justice to either Kirby or Zelda (with no Pokemon in sight). Especially Zelda has a lot of potential especially in a post BOTW world beyond a Special Effects show and the Great Deku Tree.

I'd also vouch for Metroid or the Mother series, but I don't know if they're not mainstream enough for Universal..

Definitely Batman. I'd really love a Green Lantern dueling coaster. Could be a cool sort of throwback to Dueling Dragons. Maybe a Justice League e-ticket, then a flatride or two based off of villains? Those are my initial thoughts at least.

A) I think that map is from before they decided to put Mario in Epic Universe

B) I LOVE Mother, and would absolutely adore giving it a land, but I worry about people knowing what it is. Metroid could be super cool. I was thinking about giving IoA a sci-fi land, but I couldn't think of any properties that would be good. Even Star Fox could work really well.

I want to be mainstream but not over the top obvious... I live in Texas and this is really reminding me of Six Flags in San Antonio and Dallas lol

I mean, the new Star Girl show is pretty popular. That can justify a reason to include a JSA flat ride
