@Pi on my Cake was basing the Kong experience on the old King Kong encounter in Universal Studios Hollywood. Joke I have that I need a second opinion about:

Wakko: “I don’t know about you but I am burning in here” (Wakko rings sweat out of hat)
That might be slightly too obscure if we were actually making this ride, but feels right up the alley for die hard theme park fans like the kind of nerds who would hang out here (i.e. me).

Kong scene:

The guests pull into the soundstage to see it is a recreation of the Universal Studio Tram Tour classic, King Kong Encounter (through the use of screens like King Kong 360 3-D).

Wakko: “I don’t know about you but I am burning in here” (Wakko rings sweat out of hat)

Guests suddenly hear a mighty roar from further ahead.

“I don’t think that’s Donkey Kong up ahead... “ Dot whispers.

The screens simulate forward motion they come face to face with The King of the Jungle.

Suddenly, Kong starts “attacking” the bridge

Not sure what was happening, the Animaniacs decide to save the guests. What better way than to have some fun with the ape? Suddenly, Yakko and Dot can be seen suddenly tickling the once ferocious beast.

The mighty roar suddenly turns into a playful laugh as Kong loves being tickled. Wakko comes in with a large bundle of bananas out the door sending Kong chasing them out the door.

“CUT!” a stylized Taika Waititi comes out from around the corner.

“Why’d you release my monkey? We were in the middle of a perfect shot! Get out of my soundstage!”

The golf carts drive out of the soundstage to head to the final act.

Thoughts? Wasn't sure how long/ short to make these since there are 4 of them.

I like it! I'd say try not to go too much longer than this with the other segments though. This is a pretty perfect length I think

Jaws scene:

Guests drive into the soundstage and see the Jaws lake (an indoor version) on their right-hand side.

AHPfdVfSCTI1Nrt8SKX7RrWp_ggvhA2thTeaklr9n0TfPYFghkhPMs4R4H9BJMUITapq_59sJ4YJNRtQv0pNEqjht4n7qwDqmh-8lncrNG7CKkrE8yGTXQrMqzDFAAoEYtDC3PLI

Yakko: “This is a big looking lake…”

Wakko: “I agree. You’re gonna need a bigger golf cart.”

Suddenly, the classic jaws theme song starts playing and you see a shark fin appear in the water. It pulls the boat on the right side of the lake under the water.

Yakko and Wakko yelp and disappear off-screen. The shark fin suddenly appears again further to the left of the lagoon getting closer and closer to the golf cart.

The music picks up to a climax as the shark fin gets closer and closer to the golf cart. Suddenly, Dot pops out of the water with a shark fin hat on pretending to be the Great White.

Steven Spielberg comes out visibly annoyed “Hey, guys come on! We are trying to make a movie here! The shark has enough problems on its own we don’t need you playing with it, Dot!”

“Sorryyyyyyyy” all three animaniacs say in unison as the golf cart drives forward out of the soundstage and towards the finale.

Here's what I have so far! I'm still in the process of editing some photos for the ride vehicles, but let me know what you guys think.

Ride System
Universal Studios Hollywood has been delighting guests with a unique and robust set of ride systems for many of their attractions (i.e., tracked Kuka arm for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, themed motion simulator vehicle for The Simpsons Ride, etc.). For the Animaniacs ride (A/N: insert official ride name here later), a versatile ride system fit for a D-ticket attraction must be used to convey the zaniness of the adventure that awaits guests in the ride. A trackless ride system has never been used within the park (A/N: as far as I know, but feel free to correct me if it isn't) so it is fitting that this ride will debut such a ride system.

Ride Vehicles
In keeping with the overarching theme of the studio tour, the ride vehicles will be designed to look like typical golf carts. Painted in the signature Warner Bros. blue with white accents, the studio tour's golf carts will be the de-facto director of the show, as they will be moving guests from act to act and shift their gazes from one part of the show scene to another. In addition, the ride vehicles will be enhanced with a small motion simulator built inside the body of the vehicle (similar to those used in the Ratatouille ride). This will allow guests to experience an enhanced sensation of movement in-ride by tilting the ride vehicles forward, backward, or sideways (depending on the show scene, of course).

The golf carts will be outfitted with customized items for the safety of our guests and team members while providing the optimum viewing experience of the Animaniacs ride:
  • 2 rows of seating configured to face forward (instead of the normal "one side faces front, the other faces back" configuration")
  • Installation of vehicle doors on either side
  • Lapbars to enclose the guests (per Universal ride standards)
  • Pouches for guests to put small loose items in (e.g.: glasses, hats, wallets, etc.)

@gam3rprincess, what are your plans for the facade of the ride? I want to design the queue in accordance to what you have in mind so that it would match.

I love this! I have 1 small suggestion though. I would make them three rows. As families grow in size, a 4 person capacity vehicle may not be large enough for a whole family. A 6 person one hopefully is (and if it isn't, it is easier to split them up in two cars).

Like this one:

Act 1 and the set up to Act 2:

The golf carts leave the loading platforms to go drive through the set for Baloney the movie. It’s clear everyone is trying to be serious at their job EXCEPT for the Animaniacs. Dot can be seen knocking over a paint bucket while Yakko and Wakko are tangled up in lighting rigs.

While driving through the soundstage, guests see famous Universal props such as the moon from ET on the wall, Frankenstein walking around, and the Delorean turning on.

After that, the golf carts get stopped by an AA Baloney.

Baloney: "We can't have anything too crazy in the movie! You might scare the kids!"
Yakko: "Scare the kids? That's a great idea!"
Suddenly, out comes Grizabella of the cats from CATS.
Wakko (looks at golf cart): “We wanted to scare, not traumatize!”

4kggToZ7-MS94lPkIUGyuB4Po7beEXNYHXgy7zksf5sAs8dZcR_oFOsiUiVq1AtbtfmJdfQglS7caT2RrwNlsHALci2EHUMg0iNtiCeEy6Sdji0jEr910GeaV-Y-wuTZtDlj7p9R

The golf carts keep driving and eventually leave the Baloney Movie soundstage to explore the rest of the Universal backlot.

As the guests are driving along they come across Morgan Freeman taking an outdoor bubble bath.

N_3B_Za3mpEabjigUamSs3jbRJGEIp_JuqiOhq3RcDxbFvitUSQdb_46gRQuKXWztKnRvF_XwJhw-ViC5gQsev5-zBvHZPa6JK6LQj1Yk__E-sdKCQUnh0pBXEQMx7zMG9UDqSp6

Yakko: “Why are you having a bath outside?”
Freeman: “You know what I said: You get busy living, or you get busy dying. So here I am living in this bubble bath!”

Next, guests drive past Arnold filming Terminator 53 using a walker made of shotguns.

TRB1LKME7eWZ61DT9NV-izXAwVXMMOPwR8WOg3RdzFttKeNBEJ7dEgp9SEk-eQanqsJJu9qL1nZAPCltkMVIcTcFzLZMu7Ac-NSb6D8UA0lahcIOhiQdidnWeLh4wEUH9HdF3pSW

Terminator: "I'll be Back Back"
Dot: "Unfortunately"

Lastly, guests drive past the Mr. Potato Head on the backlot.

CWkWTk3O8nhw09TkHlnv25j8EGQcWSvwjXUEYqKzJey-08BKnzuCVMipVEFzzaAwYxdFtCe1_hWAIMoMLDOjG2iUwoF4Tk8oUUY4unHXKLapS79EGhsE0uLFQrMCL_GFYoGy8bVd

Wakko: “Wow! You’re here too! I guess it really is a small world after all!”
Suddenly, the door to the office behind Mr. Potato Head opens and a hand with a rolled-up piece of paper stretches out.
Wakko: “Another C&D? The mouse doesn’t mess around!”

Guests golf carts will then drive into one of four soundstages. The facades of the soundstages are real but this is where it transitions from a physical set to a screen-based set. (The four rooms allow for increased capacity)

The four scenes depicted in the soundstages are:
  1. King Kong
  2. Jaws
  3. Jurassic Park
  4. Earthquake?

This may just be something I miss remembered about universal, but I’m pretty sure that item storage is completely locker based
Mummy and Forbidden Journey have lockers for bigger things like backpacks but the mummy also has a pouch for sunglasses/ hat (at least in Hollywood unless I’m totally misremembering)

Hard to tell what they are doing with SLoP

Ooh, right. I'll keep that in mind when designing the queue!

Jurassic Park Scene:

Guests drive into the soundstage and under the iconic Jurassic Park arch to be surrounded by a simulated jungle.

Wakko: “In the jungle, the mighty jungle, The lion sleeps tonight”
Yakko: “Wrong franchise”

The only problem is the jungle is quiet. Too quiet.

Suddenly, BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. Loud footsteps echo through the whole soundstage. The trees start to shake slightly. The pond gets the classic ripple effect.

(Can play the effect from this clip in the video to build suspense)

Out comes the one and only T-Rex complete with its mighty roar that “shakes” the golf cart.

DYxe6h2cc3r59bfO72mDO32lGSSkALu4nlgsJxx_GlIqoXXPG97o0yXtFbn13EpdzWprkU2sqWoDHE5Bc1fCwTLJVs5TC7QBdlSm-gzG0wKB-9b3zmngveBAsLcF8cNOdIfR3mOe

With nothing left to do but panic, Dot grabs a megaphone and lets out a mighty roar back at the T-Rex.

The T-Rex turns away and runs away out of being scared.

Jeff Goldblum comes on screen at this point clearly speechless.

Iv-GmdWiT-sdNkUsNuBC_d5QAT5lTVjQLr6Fvc65BBf3WuJ_wisrX_dgSbMk3GYZin73rNyGdjJ7Nk0B5CF7pfW0LZy3J6qeoXsoWL_8RIJQl6AtL16aQmpd-nR4qR5ygyh66ErX

Dot: “Sorry Doc, she was scaring the kids.”

Jeff: “Wow. I guess life, uh, finds a way.”

And with that, the golf carts drive out of the soundstage to head to the finale.
