Project Four: Kungalooshing the Night Away!
Adventurers-Club-Sepia02-e1571697643810-846x541.jpg

While themed bars such as Trader Sam's and Abracadabar are all the rage with the Disney nightlife crowd these days, back in the 90's at Walt Disney World there existed a happy place that blew pretty much every themed bar in existence out of the water. The Adventurer's Club had a full on mythology behind it's several themed rooms, intricate characters, and multiple puppet performers. It was a place stuck in time, perpetually celebrating New Years Eve on a nightly occasion. A place any average guest could go to be transported into another world. With multiple themed rooms and countless characters, The Adventurer's Club was truly a crown jewel of outside the box Imagineering. For this project, teams will be tasked to design a spiritual successor to the famous club to be placed in ANY Disney location of your choosing. This could go in a park, a Disney Springs/DownTown Disney, a resort, even a DVC. The only requirement is that it takes on the same spirit as the Adventurer's Club with multiple rooms and levels, a cast of characters, an elaborate backstory, and don't you DARE forget to include some puppets! Good luck teams, this project is due Friday, June 19th at 11:59PM Eastern.

Story is a big thing with this project. WDI says that when they are creating something they focus on the storytelling, or what they call environmental stroytelling. This type of storytelling uses these three points to differentiate it from anything else.

I think it is a good thing to keep in the back of our mind as we progress through this project!

Would we do it in DLP? Or just use that theme idea?

Considering that the American Tomorrowlands are slowly shedding their Jules Vernian steampunk theming for the original sleek and minimalist one, I'd be fine doing it in DLP. I've always been fascinated by the original Discovery Mountain concept and its original attraction line-up (including the fan-favorite Horizons!), so it would be interesting to revisit that concept today. Also, Disneyland Paris doesn't have a Club 33 or its equivalent yet and I think that if they were going to place one in Disneyland Park, it would either be in Main Street, U.S.A. or Discoveryland.

Just letting everyone know, I have a fairly busy day today (& I also may not be available for a lot of tomorrow), so I won’t really be involved in the brainstorming portion of this round, so here’s a quick idea. A bar (presumably at California Adventure) set in the 1920s
Hm, isn't there a bar already with a similar theme? Club 1901, I believe? It's not as elaborate as the Adventurer's Club though.

I love DLP from it’s current Discoveryland, it’s original concept art (complete with the pet dinosaur), discovery mountain, and more.

Of course, we don’t have to decide park now but I think that DLP could be a solid choice of park!

For now, let's wait for the others to give their ideas.

@Pufflefan, how about we slightly change your idea of a 1920s bar in California Adventure to a 1920s speakeasy on Sunset Boulevard in DHS (or even WDSP should they build a Main Street-type avenue instead of that garden avenue thing Tom Fitzgerald announced in FanDaze 2018)? There's a Club 33 in DHS (behind the Hollywood Brown Derby, I think), but our speakeasy could be the publicly accessed version of it in DHS.

That’s fine

Further ideas I had:

Pandora

I love the theming of Pandora. The idea of nature taking back manmade structures. On a small scale like the restrooms, it looks amazing.

Taking something like this, and putting it on a larger-scale (the operations tower, a hangar, etc.) could bring out a new flagship restaurant/ bar in Animal Kingdom.

Dinoland:

A new addition to Dinoland, a dinoland bar is themed as a place for Paleontologists to hang their hat up at the end of the day of fossil exploration to just unwind from the hot day.

Liberty Square:

One of the best themed lands in the Magic Kingdom in my opinion, Liberty Square is themed to a time that can be synonymous with drinking doesn't have a good bar to drink at.

American Pavilion:

Already one of my favourite pavilions, there is one thing in US history that I feel they could explore more: the Gold Rush.

Both Alaska and California had major gold rushes in the mid-to-late 1800's. A bar themed to a gold rush where people go after panning gold all day and night is a fun way to unwind in a new EPCOT bar.

Yes
So, I won't be on much today and tomorrow. So, don't wait on me for any decisions.

First thoughts, I love the ideas posted so far.

My only note: I think the lounge/bar concept like Adventurer's Club works better at Shopping Districts or hotels than inside parks. What makes these special is that they are places you can spend a long amount of time in. Something you don't want to do inside the park

That being said, if we did a location inside the parks: American Adventure, DCA, and Animal Kingdom are some of the best ideas imo.
