I like it too, but it's an already built concept. If we could find a way to plus it, we'd be golden. The Stand Up Wave Swinger sounds like it could be fun.

Regular amusement park/traveling fair flat rides on steroids is the idea.Oh I love log flumes.
I'd love to contribute ideas of my own but I'm not exactly sure what we're supposed to be coming up with. I think @Snoopy said something on the last page about the video. I watched it; are we supposed to just do...that stuff? Is it supposed to be goofy and farcical? Or real? Are we just coming up with regular amusement park rides, but a little better? The goofy-joke stuff seems like more fun than anything else, but I wouldn't want to get docked points.
Would love some clarification if you all have a better grasp on this than I do.

Basically. If you remember the carnival project from Season 7, it's literally that but slightly more detached from reality. Using the newest technology to make it really spectacular.Regular amusement park/traveling fair flat rides on steroids is the idea.

It was easier in Thrillville.Detached in like a silly way? That seems to be the direction the other teams are moving. I'm game for it.

PS: re: being silly. Did you guys ever try to make a roller coaster jump one track and land on another track in Tycoon? I never played RCT3 but I was obsessed with getting that to work in RCT2. Never could tho

My personal favorite in RCT is intertwining loops. They're very fun to make. You're probably right. I did a little investigative journalism on the subject.
Can you spot the difference?

Week 5: The Other Spinny ThingHello there, my friends. For this project, I'll be serving as a representative of well-known amusement park ride manufacturer, Chance Rides. And, by golly, we've got a hot new ride for you: The Windmill!
"The Windmill"
The Windmill is an all-new take on the cheap-carnival-spinny-thing--but however, with today's progressive technology, this could easily take carnival rides to a whole new medium. I can basically describe as the Swinging Ship ride...but on steroids.
The whole thing starts with the base. The base is about six feet tall with lights flickering all around it (not shown in picture). The ride features four different vehicles. The vehicles are basically giant flat "droppy-thing" vehicles that seat up to four people. The vehicles are attached to two different poles on both sides of the base. Why are there two on both side? We shall soon find out.
At loading time, the vehicles are located one behind the other. Once all are seated, the ride vehicles are slowly taken up to the top of the base. A bell sounds. The sound of wind begins to pick up. And slowly, but surely, the ride vehicles start to sway from side to side. But as the ride goes on and the swaying gets higher, that's where the technological part comes in.
The poles that the vehicles are connected to are rigged with a special mechanism, so that when the time is right, the vehicles will actually be able to switch places as they sway (so, at one rotation, the vehicle in back would be in front, then at the next, the vehicle would be in back, and so on and so forth). This is the reason we call this ride "The Windmill".
After a few sets of dizzying rotations, the vehicles are brought back to their "neutral" positions and are slowly lowered back down again.
The good people here at Chance Rides hope that The Windmill will become a valuable part of any traveling carnival, providing just the right amount of old-timey carnival thrill with a healthy dose of new ride technology.
I totally wouldn't be against using the company, but I'd personally rather it bring back old concepts. This is certainly going to be a most interesting project. It's actually reminding me of a project I used before...
Maybe we could weave a theme of this into our project.
I'm on my phone so I can't really say a ton, but I talked about a wild mouse shooting ride that is inside a giant circus tent. The theming is interchangeable for most any fair situation and it might feature different track to make for different experiences.I missed a lot, haha. But I'm home from school and ready to pitch in. So what's been discussed?
That could be cool. But, I think to take it a step further, how could wee incorporate an interactive element into the attraction? Maybe we could make it like a race between two people and you go faster by hitting targets next to the track?Building off of the wild mouse idea briefly, and looking at those three things I mentioned last night, what if there was a way for guests to choose what track the ride follows? Like, if you shoot the right target, you get sent down a different track? If that would be AT ALL doable. I know that the judges are being a bit lenient in terms of realism, but we can only take it so far before we get too far into the realm of fiction.
I've also been trying to think of a few other ideas on and off throughout the day. Take a look at this. It's called a cloud coaster and is this relatively new concept that's been floating around, and I'm kind of thinking that it would be perfect, should we decide to not go with the wild mouse. These are basically 2-3 story complexes with a ropes course in the center, with the actual cloud coaster surrounding. The nature of both attractions would make it incredibly easy to transport. There are a ton of places that we could take this concept. It's something that isn't really present into carnivals so far, but would absolutely fit in perfectly with a modern carnival setting.
Past that, I still have nothing. I think that we'd make a lot of headway simply by trying to update and further concepts already present in carnivals and theme parks.
