I'd also say that with this project, it might be worth it for us to look into some of the newest technology present in theme parks. Obviously not like the new Pirates technology, but IAAPA was a few months ago. Perhaps we can look to that for a small bit of inspiration.

Wasn't there a circular theatre with a motion base? That could be something.

Ok, so I'm still going through the IAAPA stuff, but I think I have an idea that could be super interesting.

So, I've been trying to think of ways we can further the carnival while also staying entirely reminiscent of the carnival. The main way I think that we could do this is by combining carnival games and carnival rides. "Ah," you may say. "Disney has already made Toy Story Midway Mania, which is literally just that." Yes, but not exactly. What I'm suggesting is an updated wild mouse. Smoother turns, a bit longer than the usual wild mouse, but distinctly a wild mouse. Easy to transport and a very distinct carnival ride. This wild mouse weaves in and out of a large red and yellow circus tent. Load is outside and the lift hill is through the front entrance to the tent. What makes this ride different is that it's a shooting ride. Guns are mounted to the front of each seat, and guests shoot targets as they go through the ride. Real prizes for highest score; charge a premium price.

It's distinctly carnival, relatively easy to transport, would make oodles of money in an actual carnival, and with the theme of it being so blank slate, we could make it literally anything. It could be a kid's ride or a horror ride; a halloween ride, or an Oktoberfest ride. The possibilities are endless. This is really encompass everything that a carnival is in one ride, with its ability to change themes. I don't know if we should use screens or physical targets a la Buzz Lightyear, but I think that it's a good start to something at the very least.

Great idea, but we must tread carefully. Some guests might not find it in themselves to participate because they'll be too busy recovering themselves from the presumably-intense motions.

As long as we're afforded the opportunity to do up to five projects, should we maybe plan on doing so? As @JokersWild mentioned the main attraction is the most important one, but perhaps after we've hammered that out in branstorming we can come up with some other attractions and divvy them up, so that way everyone has something to do for this project and we won't get docked points for a lack of group work. ;)

I like the wild mouse shooter idea, and I think something big like that should be the centerpiece. So long as we don't drift too far from the carnival roots it could really be something special. :) If I may add my own contribution to it, maybe the compact nature of the ride allows for quick and random track changes, so no ride is the same twice?

You're right. There'd be a lot of design stuff we'd have to work out, but I think it's entirely doable.

Definitely. I imagine we'd have to tone down the excitement levels, basically strike a balance between the mini games and the thrills, but very much doable, as you said.

That would be incredibly cool. As long as the cars are spaced far enough apart, that's totally doable. So we could basically have a spaghetti bowl made up of three coasters that's actually one coaster :p? That could be super interesting.

Yeah, that's something else I wanted to bring up too. As cool as some of the rides in the video looked, all of them were pretty impractical in the real world. I mean that was the point of the video, but realism in this game does account for 20% of our grade. I think taking wild concepts and making them practical will help us go a long way in this round. :)

Totally I wasn't imagining it being this hugely thrilling thing. It could have thrilling elements, sure, but never during the shooting segment(s)

What I'm hearing is it's like a Midway Mania-type experience that also operates like Seven Dwarves Mine Train with the split between show scenes and ride segments?

I think that's a pretty strong idea.

Just wanted to post these unbelievably rough ideas to try to jumpstart brainstorming a bit more. Make of it what you will. I'm still super into the wild mouse, but we do need up to five other rides if we want that extra credit. Or if we'd rather a different main attraction ;)
