I still need to do Bikini Bottom here and on the map. But most of Blackpool is done.Blackpool General Description
Blackpool already has some amazing thrill rides that serve as big draws! Plus, it has some very well themed attractions like Valhalla and Wallace & Gromit. Also, it has an inherent draw as a vacation destination being along the beach and boardwalk.
So, what should the $250 Million be spent on? It is time to elevate Blackpool to the next level! The Park will be given two new immersively themed lands: Viking Village which will be built around Valhalla and Haunted Harbor which will be built around Wallace & Gromit and the Ghost Train. Plus, the more loosely tied together Nickelodeon Land will be transformed into Bikini Bottom: The World of Spongebob Squarepants!
Overall, there will be 4 brand new attractions, 9 rethemed/update attractions, and 3 new lands!
Plus, some exciting updates to elevate and revitalize the rest of the park!
Budget
Viking Village - $60 Million
General Land Update Costs - $10 Million Ship of the Viking King - $20 Million Maelstrom Mayhem - $20 Million Updates to Existing Attractions - $10 Million
Haunted Harbor - $90 Million
General Land Update Costs - $10 Million The Monsters of Midnight Lane - $40 Million Lighthouse Lounge Restaurant - $20 Million Updates to Existing Attractions - $20 Million
Bikini Bottom: The World of Spongebob Squarepants - $80 Million
General Land Update Costs - $10 Million Spongebob's Best Day Ever - $40 Million Updates to Existing Attractions - $30 Million
The Thrill Zone Updates - $20 Million Total - $250 Million
Viking Village
A Land themed around Vikings! Building off the groundwork of the incredibly successful and beloved Valhalla (Which is currently in the middle of a major refurbishment IRL as we speak), the area near the main entrance will be transformed into a home for the fearsome Vikings! Rockwork will be extended to surround much of the land instead of just Valhalla. Plus, plenty of Ice and snow. The Ship of the Viking King (New)
Crashed on an iceberg is a large scale replica of the Ship of the Viking King! It serves as an icon for not only the land, but the park as a whole. It also doubles as a walk-through attraction through the caverns in the iceberg and around the ship! This will replace the sculpture garden, though many of the sculptures will find homes elsewhere in the park.
- Ice Blast (Updated)
- The Ice Blast Drop Tower will remain, but it will be given some more theming to tie into the frozen, viking landscape. Specifically, the titular "ice" which is currently missing.
- Maelstrom Mayhem (New)
- A swinging ship flat ride that shall be themed to a viking ship that has been cursed to be stuck in a never-ending maelstrom! Wind and water effects help elevate this above a simple carnival ride. This replaces the Flying Machines Flat Ride.
- Sleipnir's Speed (Updated)
- Derby Racer will stay mostly the same, but some new paint and decorations will help it fit into the rest of the land. The new theme is that the Vikings are hosting a horse race to honor Odin's legendary steed, Sleipnir!
- Haunted Harbor
- A land themed to a village at the water's edge full of the ghosts of sailors and explorer's from throughout history! As well as all kinds of other spooks and specters. Vampires! Zombies! Were-Rabbits! Gasp! Visually, this land uses a mix of rockwork and water features (built off of groundwork laid by the River Caves and the Fountain Show) and a run down New England village with a muted, yet vibrant color scheme full of purples, greens, and oranges contrasted by dark blacks and dull grays. The Ghost Train will stay the same, but everything else in this area will be either be replaced or updated.
- Haunted River Caves (Updated)
- This says updated, but it is practically new. The classic version of the River Caves dark ride took guests on a trip through time, but often to dark environments. This new version will take guests on a tour through caverns haunted by the spirits of Sea Voyagers from throughout history. Zombie conquistadors, Ghost Pirates, the Loch Ness Monster, etc. The tone is dark, but family friendly dark. Something along the lines of Phantom Manor. Most figures are kept very simple. The focus is on atmosphere more than animatronics, gags, and big effects.
- The Monsters of Midnight Lane (New)
- A new interactive shooter dark ride designed by the Sally Corp. Guests will join two kids on bikes from the 80s, Stephen and Matt (named after Stephen King, creator of IT, and Matt Duffer, creator of Stranger Things. Two properties that inspire this ride). An army of Shadows are attacking their small, New England Town. Taking the form of all kinds of classic monsters as well as simple shadow creatures. Guests will take some flash lights and blast away to defeat the monsters and get a high score! All while 80s style synth music plays and Stephen and Matt crack jokes over walkie talkies. This will replace the incredibly dated Alice in Wonderland dark ride.
- Lighthouse Lounge Restaurant (New)
- A new Table Service Restaurant featuring New England style seafood! It will be sold out of the house at the base of a lighthouse (which will serve as an icon for the Haunted Harbor Land).
- Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (Updated)
- The Wallace and Gromit Dark Ride is already mostly themed to the movie, Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Some minor changes will be made to theme it more fully to the spooky, yet fun, Were-Rabbit story to fit within the Haunted Harbor land.
- Bikini Bottom: The World of Spongebob Squarepants
- Bikini Bottom Blast (Updated)
- Spongebob's Best Day Ever (New)
- Jellyfish Fields Tours (Updated)
- Flat Ride Rethemes (Updated)
- The Thrill Zone Updates
- Updates to Rest of Park, now branded as the Thrill Zone.
Alright, Blackpool is done and in the Map. Plus, it was edited into my example post for the final presentation. So, if we use that, it's ready to go.Blackpool General Description

- Nickelodeon Land will be transformed from a loosely tied together collection of different, mostly outdated, IPs into a celebration of the cartoon series with the largest impact and legacy from, not just Nickelodeon, but the modern era as a whole. Spongebob Squarepants! Simple rockwork, decor, bubble blowers and other placemaking will help transport guests under the ocean and into Bikini Bottom!
- Bikini Bottom Blast (Updated)
- The Nickelodeon Streak Coaster currently wraps around the border of Nickelodeon Land. As a part of the transformation into Bikini Bottom, the Nickelodeon Streak will be rethemed into Bikini Bottom Blast! There won't be any major changes beyond a new coat of paint. It will be painted a muted blue color with some of the "sky flowers" that can be seen in Spongebob added to the sides. This will help the coaster serve as a large backdrop for the under water world!
- Spongebob's Best Day Ever (New)
- A new suspended dark ride will take guests on a tour through iconic locations from the shows such as the Krusty Krab, the Chum Bucket, Goo Lagoon, and many more as we follow Spongebob through his Best Day Ever! Effects will be kept simple with screens/projections used to help keep the budget down. Being suspended, the ride will make guests feel as if they are truly floating through Bikini Bottom! This ride will replace the Dora's World Voyage Boat Ride and serve as a new anchor for the land. Guests will enter through the iconic Pineapple Under the Sea with the queue weaving through Spongebob's house.
- Jellyfish Fields Tours (Updated)
- This log Flume will take guests on a tour of Jellyfish Fields! They'll see Spongebob and Patrick Jellyfishing along their way of course. And even wander through the Legendary Temple of the Golden Jellyfish! This will be a retheme the Rugrat's Lost River flume ride. It will even reuse some of the current decorations to create the Legendary Temple of the Golden Jellyfish.
- Flat Ride Rethemes (Updated)
- The remaining flat rides themed to shows such as Avatar, Fairly Oddparents, and Avatar will all be reworked to Spongebob themes! Mrs. Puff's Boating School, Plankton's Evil inventions, Flying with the Jellyfish... They'll be so many exciting adventures here! Plus, all the flat rides will give the land an amazing kinetic energy that will help bring Bikini Bottom to life!
- The Thrill Zone Updates
- The rest of the park won't be getting major overhauls. It is mostly large scale coasters for the remaining areas. So, they will be grouped together as a fourth "land" known as The Thrill Zone. This land won't be immersive or tied together with one theme like the others. Most of the budget will simply go to improving the visuals. New coats of paint in bright, vibrant colors. LED lights added to the tracks of coasters so they can serve as almost light shows weaving through the land and each other (Sort of like Slinky Dog Dash). The focus here is really on beautification more than anything else.
Things are looking good!
@PerGronStudio any updates on Europa?
@Outbound you seem to have a more solid grasp in the plan for Tivoli Harbor than I do. If you can write up the intro and the general land description, I can do the rides and budget
@PerGronStudio how much would a decent aquarium cost? Maybe that could be a better fit as an additional draw for Tivoli Harbor than a Theater
I figure 100 for infrastructure/busses, 50 for a coaster, 50 for an aquarium, and 50 for some flats. For how much we have, we could do a decent aquarium. We couldn’t have things like dolphins or anything too big, but a nice one with penguins, seals, sharks, turtles, etc. would be doable. It’d take the whole budget though.
if we wanted it to be alongside things just cut out the penguins and seals and we could do a smaller one focusing just on fish species and sharks.
As for Europa, I’ve got most of my stuff done, I’ve just gotta write it all up tonight.
I figure 100 for infrastructure/busses, 50 for a coaster, 50 for an aquarium, and 50 for some flats.
Of course they're fasted. It's a part of their athletic lifestyle.a launch coaster themed to the fasted fish: The Sailfish
