I have created a Google MyMaps to show what I am getting at. If you scroll into Gardaland, you can see my rough outline for the current "lands" -- note that currently, Gardaland claims to have no "lands" but really has divided regions by theme. These are my best guesses (from Google Earth and walkthrough videos).

What we can do is further divide these map overlays from lands to buildings, to fully get a sense of our expansion relative to the rest of the park. Then when you click on that zone it takes you to a page from a Google Site or Forum Post that explains it in detail.

Team S.E.A. has chosen to work with:
Phantasialand
Alton Towers
De Efteling
and PortaAdventura

Team L.A.N.D. will work with:
Europa Park
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Tivoli Gardens

and Gardaland

The hosts/Team L.A.N.D. would like to take this opportunity to wish Team S.E.A. luck!
We hope you will have a lot of fun working with each other as one large group instead of working against each other.
The hosts would also like to formally call all the members of Team S.E.A. "nerds" and push them into a locker.

Its not letting me edit it to add my map draft, but that could just be me not figuring it out yet.

Did a lot of research into Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Got a rough plan

1581999426631.png

  • Bikini Bottom
    • Turn the Nickelodeon Land into just Spongebob. Its the one Nicktoon that has proven itself timeless and iconic. Its had two successful movies with a third on the way. Plus, half of it is already Spongebob.
    • Paint the coaster that surrounds the land Blue and add some bubbles and "Spongebob sky flowers" and jellyfish and all to the side
    • Retheme non-SB rides.
    • Replace the Rugrats ride with a suspended dark ride
  • Spooky Stuff
    • Replace the Alice Ride with a new ride themed to something spooky
    • Update Wallace annd Gromit to focus fully on the Were Rabbit instead of just mostly on it
    • Keep the Ghost Train as a classic Boardwalk ghost train. Just some minor updates. Its better dated, old, and sucky
    • Big refurb/retheme of the River Cave dark ride. Make it into a Haunted Jungle Cruise. A couple of the rooms can stay mostly te same
  • Vikings
    • Big Refurb of Valhala. Get it pristine condition
    • Add a lot more rock work to the area
    • Surround the ice themed drop tower with some ice!
    • Horse Race Flat Ride is themed to a Viking race celebration thing
    • Replace the Flyers Flat Ride with a Viking themed Swinging Boat flat ride
    • Replace the statue garden with a big Weenie for the land. Perhaps a Viking Ship frozen in the ice and rocks. Maybe housing a walk through
  • Rest of the park
    • Rest is gonna be a lot of general beautification. Its a ton of unthemed coasters clumped together with little to no breathing room, not much that can really be done beyond just making the area look pretty. Maybe some light retheming.
Overall, a lot of just fixing and helping what is there. Focusing on what already works and expanding on it.

So what are we thinking about Europa Park? It looks like it needs the least amount of work.

Biggest concerns I can see are:
1. The entrance is on the far left side of the park, not the center.
2. There isn’t much of a central icon.

Beyond that it already has a waterpark, resorts, and density.

Let me ust look into that park for a second....

Wait! There's a whole land dedicated to Arthur and the Invisibles?!? That movie had sequels!?!?! I loved that movie growing up! Is it actually popular in Europe? What the crap. Is that the only IP really present here? Arthur and the freaking Invisibles????????

Anyways, yeah. The park doesn't seem to have a natural flow to it. It has a Monorail loop and a train looping around it though already to help.

The current entrance takes those red lines as a main path and feels very odd. We could take the space highlighted in green and basically totally bull doze it without losing much for a brand new entry land. That's enough space for 1.5 Main Streets (Including the hub). Plenty of room for a great new entrance land. Maybe just pour all the money into a new entrance land. This would leave the Epcot ball and the Euro Tower as some nice icons at the entrance too.

That's a good plan, but the area you've cut out is already the well-themed Germany and Italy lands. Unlike Gardaland, who's entrance is literally a forest path with poorly themed kids rides.

My suggestion is instead the following.
EuropaPark.JPG

The red zone is the park, to my understanding. Based off the official map, the blue zone inside the red is a conference center. This is not needed and ultimately creates the u shaped dilemma we see today. I'd suggest removing the conference center, not Germany and Italy lands. The new entrance comes in from both sides but there is an emphasis on the new, longer path -- which leads straight to the totally not EPCOT ball. The original main street with remain as an extension, like how Tokyo's main street has side paths avoiding the hub. But bulk traffic now goes forward.

Now regarding resort expansion. The park borders residential neighbors to the left (highlighted). A no-go there. They seem to have moved up to their Runlatica zone beyond the town, but I would like to try and remain close to the park. How about the right farmland? I have marked a potential new headling hotel (with convention center) in the left blue zone, with additional parking + a second discount hotel in the purple zone.

Lastly, the magenta zone is currently occupied by what appears to be a film company, "Traumatica". Let's buy that land and use it to build something. What does Europa Park lack at this point to Disneyland Paris? Themeing? Check. Hotels? Check. Water Parks? Check. I suggest we go the extra mile and build a Shopping Center. Our "Downtown Disney" can link up to the new hotel over bridge, and a path could be constructed along the road to link up to the park entrance.

This may exceed our 250 budget, but if we keep the new entrance simple (ie, extension of German land with no attractions) and don't go crazy with the hotel we should be able to make it all fit.

Now it is time for Tivoli Gardens. The hardest of the eight for sure. Everyone's cramped and there is absolutely no room for expansion. Not to mention half the attractions are historical landmarks. The Gardens are near impossible to "improve".

Tivoli Gardens.JPG

So what do you do when you can't play the game? Don't play the game.

Introducing Tivoli Harbor, the second gate to Tivoli Gardens. Built along the Danish Waterfront, this Harbor offers an authentic experience similar in quality but very different in style to the Gardens. The Harbor is filled with travelers from around the world, seeking guests with a taste for adventure.

Tivoli Harbor.JPG

I've spent a while searching for a proper place in Cophenhagen to build it. Settled on a spot 1.8 miles away from the Gardens (in the heart of the city) the Harbor is the same size as the Gardens. As it cannot stand on its own, I specifically placed it next to what appears to be an up-and-coming converted industrial complex to hipster shopping center.

Oh, and @Pi on my Cake you were right, I foolishly left the sharing on view only. Here's the fixed link (head to Cophenhagen to see my plan):

HAAAAAARK!

Hark, Triton, hark! Bellow, bid our father the S.E.A. King rise from the depths full foul in his fury! Black waves teeming with salt foam to smother these young mouths with pungent slime, to choke ye, engorging your organs til’ ye turn blue and bloated with bilge and brine and can scream no more -- only when he, crowned in cockle shells with slitherin’ tentacle tail and steaming beard take up his fell be-finned arm, his coral-tine trident screeches banshee-like in the tempest and plunges right through yer gullets, bursting ye -- a bulging bladder no more, but a blasted bloody film now and nothing for the harpies and the souls of dead sailors to peck and claw and feed upon only to be lapped up and swallowed by the infinite waters of the Dread Emperor himself -- forgotten to any man, to any time, forgotten to any god or devil, forgotten even to the S.E.A., for any stuff for part of Team L.A.N.D., even any scantling of your souls, is Team L.A.N.D. no more, but is now itself the S.E.A.!

This looks perfect to me! A simple new entrance land, a shopping district, and a hotel. I'm not at a computer to look at maps really right now, but here's just something I'm gonna throw out...

What if we move the entrance entirely? Enter through the Shopping Distrct! Sorta like City Walk at Universal. That would put the entrance right at the center of the park. We don't need a large Main Street because there's shops right outside the park. That lets us keep the budget lower.

I like that! What are we thinking, water park? Or a full second gate? There's not too much we can do with our budget building from scratch. But an indoor water park and a good bus system is possible. Maybe a hotel if we have enough.

This sounds good. I checked on the map, it seems the space between Greece and Russia is undeveloped. The key though, would it be a "grand" entrance? Compared to Germany's new nice street leading straight to the park icon, this would lead to a large t intersection in the middle of the park. I personally prefer the current entrance even if it makes it very "tall" (frame the park map to be vertical, not horizontal).

This comes down to opinion so I'd like @PerGronStudio 's thoughts.

Ideally, it would be another Tivoli Gardens, but with a more nautical theme. I think the Harbor could have vendors showing guests various foods and walkthroughs of unique old ships. More DisneySEA than water park. But we don't have the budget, so either...
1. Make your average water park, which I think would be more a disservice to their emphasis on quality,
2. Create one small area in the Harbor and promise more to come. To get people to visit you could set up a single ticket that by default serves as a hopper for Gardens and Harbor, with bussing included. Over time we'll get the resources to expand it out.

As you can see by my wording I prefer two lol, but option one is probably the most logical.

I agree with you, I think the current entrance is in a good location. I don't like the idea of having a T-intersection right in the middle of it

I think we go with option 2 personally. A regular average waterpark is just kind of a boring addition to what seems to be a very nice park.

Having reviewed SEA’s progress, I think we have less of their “spark” but more order. @Pi on my Cake I am assuming you will work on Blackpool? I like everything you’ve brought up so far. I will make detailed write ups for Gardaland. @PerGronStudio would you like to work in Tivoli or Europa? The fourth park we can split down the middle.
I got Blackpool.

You make a good point about the T Section and it being less interesting of a location for my moved entrance idea for Europa. Kepping the same basic area but just redoing it is probably best.

I like the idea of Tivoli Harbor as a one land proof of concept for a second gate. But is that enough to support a new location? Maybe we could add some sort of arena or theater or convention center. Make the Park Preview be a bonus, not the draw. Having it be automatically included in a ticket to the Gardens is a good idea.
