I would love to do a scare zone or a show personally. As for the houses, 2 original and 2 ip would be best. Also, what if we moved the event to IOA
I'd personally think that we could get away with 3 IPs and 1 original. Horror Nights seems to be built mainly on mazes based on established brands, so I feel as though that might be the smarter decision. Of course, the scare zones should be entirely original, I'd think.

I'm also not opposed to placing this in IoA, I just worry because I'm not entirely sure if the park has the backstage areas to support that many mazes.

On another note, if it would make it easier, I would not be opposed to taking Team Leader this round. I plan to be back later with a solidified direction for my maze. We also really need to start talking about Young Frankenstein, as that's the centerpiece of the project.

Regarding space in IOA, we can put one or two in soundstages and connect ala Grinchmas. Carnage Warehouse in Marvel is there ( with room for a tent). We could re purpose Poseidon as a maze. There are a few more spots I know of, but am drawing a blank on. Also, for the show, we can use Lagoon theater fir a show, or a maze if we wanted to put the show in Sinbad.

Just give it lip service somewhere in the post and move along is what I say.

So if we're all agreed on IoA, what about something full out fantasy for the icon?
So, this might be an absolutely terrible idea, but I think that it might be cool if that Icon was this ghost captain-type character. I think that it would fit in IoA, and would easily lead into the character's own maze.

In terms of scarezones, I don't think we'd be able to secure the rights for obvious reasons, but I think it would be really cool to have a Marvel Zombies scarezone in Superhero Island. If only Disney hadn't bought Marvel. Alas....

Theme park rights for Marvel comic attractions based on Avengers characters and more are still owned by Universal east of the Mississippi. It's a very complicated deal, but considering there are rumored plans for an Avengers attraction, Hulk just got a refurb, etc...I don't think there would be a rights issue if a Marvel comic adapted maze came to be. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Something I always liked the concept of was a Med-evil Jester that has a cabinet of mystery that would make people disappear, but it really sends them into their worst nightmare. Have a cabinet of mystery as the entrance to each house and between zones. Also, we could to a sorcerer like mickeyfan said, that conjures portals or summoned a bunch of creatures.

This. All this. An evil Newt Scamander of sorts? Collects these nightmarish creatures and holds them up just to unleash them at the worst possible time. That could be our show!

Yes
So, my only concern with Islands is theming. Studios is a hodgepodge of generically movie themed areas. With the recent exception of Diagon Alley, no area is heavily themed. So, it's easy to fit any horror movie in there. Islands is a lot more heavily themed and detailed. Marvel Zombies is fantastic. And that is probably how we want to think if we r going with Islands. We need to fit with the different themes (more or less). I love the Ghost Captain mascot idea. We could do a Forbidden Forest or Azkaban maze in Hogsmede. Maybe some dark jungle monste horror movie near Jurassic Park/Kong. Dark Fantasy Horror in Lost Continent (just spitballing, labrynth with evil minotaur or tour of Tarturus). And, other than the theater, I vote we don't touch Toon Lagoon or Seuss unless we maybe wanted to make a silly, kid friendly maze based of off an old cartoon like Casper or something.

Just my general thoughts, Islands has theming and with some exceptions (Kong should not be in Jurassic Park!! Two different islands! Hogsmede isn't even an island! It's not an island of adventure!), IOA sticks to the theming with the different lands. I feel like if we use Islands we need to consider that.

I'll also interject so your score isn't ultimately hurt...

J.K. Rowling has control over Potter, so in the design phase, keep this in mind. Would Rowling approve this? Would Rowling approve that? Etc. I know that on the West Coast, Wizarding World is kept closed during HHN. I'm not sure why. It could be her doing, but I digress.

When HHN was held at IOA in IOA's early years, I recall Seuss Landing being under the jurisdiction of Geisel's (Dr. Seuss) widow. I believe that she refused any maze or scarezone to be placed in Seuss Landing, so that would be out. If memory serves, they just played the usual background music backwards, had the lights dimmed and blasted fog thru the area.

Ditto with Potter and Seuss, although I believe one entrance was in Seuss, but you are right about the zone. Although, Potter is used in Japan, so it is very much an option, but a house might not be. Marvel can easily be turned into generic city, Jurrassic generic jungle, lost Continent Generic Ruins, and then use PoE for the icon zone.

Wait a second. Why isn't Frederick Frankenstein (Gene Wilder's character from Young Frankenstein) the icon of our Horror Night. His maze is supposed to be the centerpiece of our project, and he's a great character. Not scary, but could be great as a host. Puttin' on the Ritz show in PoE, on top of the individual big show. This practically writes itself.
It is an interesting concept, my only problem is the icon is supposed to tie the vent together. Also, another idea is a demented wedding theme with "Sonething Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue" Maybe Young Frankenstein as something old. A non universal IP for something borrowed (potter). Etc.
