I don't know a ton about either, but I'm not against it. Honestly, if we're going oldschool, I feel that Betty Boop might lend itself better to a dark ride than Woody Woodpecker/ Felix. Any of those properties could make for an interesting unique dark ride at the very least.

What if we did something older like Woody Woodpecker or Felix the Cat. Those aren't necessarily cartoons but shorts. But that can be something unique that know one is talking about.
The best approach with Woody Woodpecker would probably to do a Snow White styled dark ride where Woody is trying to take revenge on us (similar to the format of a classic WW cartoon). Except less scary and with more cartoonish violence.

I don't know what to do with Felix the Cat, I'm sure there's some set pieces scattered throughout the cartoons, but all I can remember from Felix himself is that he had a magic bag and absurdist cartoon physics.

I really like Tom and Jerry as a possibility, but since we have time I think that it would be in our best interest to take the day to weigh all of the options. Does anyone else have anything? I know that we're still waiting on two to make an appearance. I'll try to solidify some concepts and will post them tonight.

Ooh, this one is gonna be fun...

I honestly really like the previous ideas of Powerpuff Girls, Wacky Races, Animaniacs, Futurama, or a big Hanna-Barbera crossover dark ride (I think that's my personal favorite of the suggestions so far).

Incidentally, when I was younger I thought up a Hanna-Barbera dark ride that was basically just a version of The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera with the ride system of Peter Pan's Flight. In addition to Yogi and Boo-Boo, there were a bunch of other characters that the riders were helping: Huckleberry Hound, Snagglepuss, Quick-Draw McGraw, and I think Hokey Wolf, Wally Gator, Magilla Gorilla and Peter Potamus...

That would be really cool, but we have to be careful since we can't do crossovers unless they were part of a series. It's just a weird line we have to tread carefully.

Okay, I just got an idea for a hypothetical Looney Tunes dark ride.

Basically, the idea is that it's kind of like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Daffy is running a taxi service or something, and because he's a lunatic, he sucks at driving and we wind up zipping this way and that way through all of these different Looney Tunes locations (Foghorn Leghorn's farm, the desert where Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner live, maybe we could even "fall into" Bugs Bunny's rabbit hole).

I did mention the Laff-a-Lympics earlier, and it'd be easy to integrate all the HB characters abilities in that setting.

Only problem is that we would need to ask Tiki for permission to use characters like the Flintstones, Jetsons, Dick Dastardly, the rest of the original Scooby gang (Fred, Velma, and Daphne) since they didn't appear in the series.

I'll allow all Hannah Barbera stuff for Laff-a-Lympics, that's fine.

So one saving grace of Hanna-Barbera is that they spent two decades recycling their shows into compilation blocks, so that might be a rule we can bend.

If we were going to go the Laff-a-Lympics route, I think that it might be better to look at Wacky Races. It would lend itself better to an attraction and we could use my boy Sir Richard Dastardly. Lagging-a-Lympics definitely has its’ advantages though.

@DashHaber, whatchu got?

I also feel that Wacky Races would offer plenty of potential. Heck, it already involves vehicles and it's a chance to get some good hijinx with Richard Dastardly.

Besides that, some other good properties could be:
  • Darkwing Duck
  • Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers
  • Dexter's Laboratory (a classic Cartoon Network title, and the titular lab would make for a great ride setting)
  • Betty Boop (just imagine trying to capture the surreal feel of the old Fleischer shorts)
  • Freakazoid! (I feel like there could be a really fun parody of theme park rides lurking in here)
  • Inspector Gadget

Definitely agree with you in terms of Wacky Races, Betty Boop, and Freakazoid. I didn't even think of Inspector Gadget, but that could be an interesting IP to work with as well. I'll be out of a bit today, but I'll make a post compiling all of the IPs we've talked about that I think are most viable. I'd love to see a few more ideas while I'm gone. Please, by all means get weird with it. This is brainstorming. We can reign it in as we start to solidify plans.

There are so many good shows that lend themselves to rides that came out right after 2000. Fairly Odd Parents, Jimmy Neutron, Foster’s Home, and Kim Possible all feel like 90’s cartoons but all premiered between 2000 and 2004

We have to work with pre-2000s, unfortunately, but I agree that those would make for great rides.
