I have 3 tattoos.
I have a Tiger walking on some rocks by a waterfall on one arm.
An Eagle flying through some clouds on the other arm.
And a Spider that looks like it's crawling up my calf on my right leg.
I Love my tattoos. They are like pieces of ART on my body. I would get the exact same tattoos if I could do it all over again.
However.... I would highly recommend that if you DO decide to get a tattoo that you follow these simple rules:
1) Find a good tattoo artist...look around at other peoples tattoos and if you find one that you really like, don't be afraid to ASK that person where he or she got their tattoo. Don't rush into it and get the first tattoo you see...Tattoos are for life.
2) Get a tattoo that you will still appreciate when you are 85 years old. Stay away from Skulls and Crossbones, Cartoon characters, Tribal and or Gothic symbols. They may be cool NOW but you may not think so 30 years from now.
3) Get tattoos put on you where they can be covered up if you need to. Everyone Loves their own tattoos but some people just don't think getting a tattoo is a sign of good judgemnt. This way you can cover them up for job interviews if you think it may dissuade someone from hiring you.
4) Take CARE of your tattoos and they will look beautiful forever. I have had mine for 5 years and another one for 22 years and they still look colorful. I put lotion on them every morning and sunblock on them when I go out into the sun. Just like a painting that hangs on a wall, the elements will damage them if they aren't protected.
::Getting off of my pedestal:: Sorry this is so long... But I feel this bit of info is important.
And finally...For those of you who absolutely think tattoos are horrible and discusting and think people who have them are scary and irresponsible individuals...PLEASE don't judge me by the colors of my skin....thank you
