Tarzan Demolition and minor Everest Construction Photo Update

Went to AK for a few hours today. Unfortunately Everest went down while I was there so I was unable to ride today. Anyway they have begun some major work at the former Tarzan Theater. By all appearances they have begun to demolish it. How much will be torn down is unclear but the tent like structure it used to have is definitely going. The entire left side of the theater is gone. Additionally they appeared to being removing the concrete exit paths on the Dinoland side if the theater.

The last two photos in this update show a new construction wall that has been put up near Everest. It is located between the Fastpass Distribution and the bathrooms. I am not sure what is going on, but a few days ago I saw a few suits in the same area talking about knocking out a wall between that area and Kali. They were armed with satellite photos of the area. It is purely speculation on my part but I think they maybe trying to extend the outside portion of the queue behind the fastpass machines towards the bathrooms and back. I think they know they are going to need more queue space. Anyways here are the photos. I hope you all enjoy.

This was the first time I have seen it go down although I have heard of a couple of other times. But to be honest this is normal. Things are supposed to go wrong. Thats why they do these previews in the first place, to work out the kinks. It was no big deal I have been on seven times now, it was a good break. I went and watched the Tigers instead.

The work on the Tarzan Theater looks extensive, it will be interesting to see what they have planned for the area. It is easy to understand why the new show is only rumoured for the end of this year. Thanks for the photos.

I hear ya! I enjoyed Tarzan Rocks and we didn't get a chance to see it this past December. Oh well, now I'm really looking forward to seeing what they have up their sleeves. :D

Thanks for the update Peter.

I heard the Tarzan theater was going to be enclosed and A/C added for a new Pixar show. That's what I get for listening to CM's, lol.

:p

The extension for everest queue is needed. That queue is so short and that was one of the design flaws of this ride. If your gonna build a Giant mountain with a thrilll ride in it they have to put a large queue.

Im looking forward to see what there gonna do with the Theatre in the wild. There is alot of stuff that could go in there and add a little bit to that area.

I hope you are right Peter -- an extension of the queue would be sweet....especially if it was integrated into Kali a bit! Wow -- that would rock -- or a restaurant -- its all good.

Thanks for keeping us updated!

(maybe now I have incentive to go visit some more)
