Sitting outside with the pup on my lap and she starts growling and barking at a couple walking by. This was the first time she has barked at anyone in 8 or 9 days of camping.

I shushed her, but she didn’t shush. No biggie. I bring her in with me to wash dishes.

30 seconds later Mike comes tearing in. There’s a skunk on our site … not 2 feet away from where Daisy and I had been sitting.

She probably saved us from getting sprayed. Saved me anyway. Mike saved himself.

I’m going to have to Google map how far away we are from Dollywood. We can really hear the fireworks.

In Tennessee (and most of America really tbh) you’re probably always only a couple of km away from someone lighting off fireworks.

4Th Of July Summer GIF

(Sorry/not sorry. This came up when I searched for firework gifs on here and this one made me laugh.)

Are you planning on stopping by when you are there? The new fireworks/drone show is great. If not here is a clip.

Very cool.

Apparently the fireworks (but not the drone show) can be seen from the hotel where our friend works. We’ll probably head over there one evening.

As for going to Dollywood this year - probably not. It’s way too long of a day to leave the pup … although I just read about Doggywood tonight. Even then, it’s probably too hot and crowded for Mike. We’ve been twice before. Missing it for one trip won’t kill us.

Figures though - the first time we went, I was hobbling around on a soon to be MRI-diagnosed broken leg; and the next year, I was hobbling around mere weeks ahead of a full hip replacement. This year, there would be no hobbling. Not on my part anyway. I can easily walk 10-15 km … blindfolded … with my hands tied behind my back. Oh well.

One of our grey tank valves is stuck, so we went to an RV repair place. We may need them to come out, assuming the warranty will cover it. If not, we’ll let the dealership fix it when we get back. We have two grey tanks, so it’s not situation critical … it’s situation PITA.

While we were out, we hit the Tanger Outlets. It was a ZOO! Mike got a pair of flip flops for the shower house, and I bought a sundress at Old Navy and some mini cookies for Mike. I’ve tried no less than 20 times to get the pic to load, and it just will not, so you’ll have to take my word for it. Cupcake flavour (looks like birthday cake) and PB Choc. Chip.

I thought all of the Disney Stores closed. Maybe just in Canada. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hey Bestie, remember these? 60% off.
They only had fluffy sizes, so I didn’t get one.

Were the DL? There are 2 Tangers near me that I think still have Disney stores. Might take a ride.
So when the Queen stops by for lunch you have to have that set scratch free. Seem to me that those things took a lot of beating when my parents used them. What did you do buy the cheaper line?;)

Kids department sizes.
She has the Cutco knives - they cut through tin cans. My brother in law briefly sold them and that was part of the sales pitch.

I almost sold them to, so I went through the sales pitch. They still only cut in relation to the pressure applied and thin aluminum cans are not solid plates. Cutco shears could actually cut pennies (copper is also a soft metal) and I will admit that they are a very good product. I actually accidently cut my finger during the pitch as I was inspecting the knife blades.

I am currently sporting a bandaid on my right thumb from cutting strawberries. These are brand spanking new Cutco knives. They will become less dangerous over time.

We have 12 at home, each in various stages of cut-off-your-fingerness.

Now I know why there’s a pet washing station here. 😂😂

It's nice that they have a pet washing station, but from what I'm told if your animal gets sprayed by a skunk the worst thing to do is to use water. A teacher I work with has a couple of dogs that have gotten sprayed by skunks a few times and she uses hydrogen peroxide and dish soap (Dawn, I think) to clean them up. So something to keep in mind just in case Pepe LePew comes back to visit your camp site.

IMHO there's no such thing as a knife that's too sharp but dull knives that are dangerous. A few got sharpened after the cabbage incident on Sunday

Went to the dealership Jayco recommended. The earliest they can service us is mid-September.

Gonna use the mobile RV tech we already have booked. We already know Jayco won’t pay for the mobile service part, but they should pay for the actual repair portion.

Hopefully we get out of this for just a few hundred bucks.

I had this brilliant idea last night that once it’s repaired, we put it in temporary storage here, drive home with just the truck, and pick it back up on our way to the Keys three weeks later. We will save hundreds in gas, and 2,200 km of wear and tear on the rig.

We got talking with a couple (that own a much nicer Jayco than ours) from Illinois who are doing exactly that. $85/month for storage.

Mike was lukewarm at first, but now he’s starting to think it’s a brilliant idea … probably because it is!

I know a local down that way with a driveway. Probably wouldn't charge you at all, and would take good care of it, keep it clean, and send you postcards from his roadtri... keep it clean.
