Take the bus or drive your car?

We will be stayong at CBR over Labor Day, and I have read in a few places, that we are better off taking the bus to the Magic Kingdom instead of driving our car. This is because the buses bypass the TTC.

Any opinions? (I will deffenatly be driving to the other parks. I am just asking about MK.)

Personally I would bus it everywhere. Buses to each park run every 20 mins at most, and by the time you park your car and get to the entrance, it will take the same amount of time, if not longer. Plus, there is such a convenience to ending your tiring park day by hopping on a bus at the exit of the park - as opposed to walking the parking lot or getting crammed on a tram - and letting them do the driving for you.

just something to think about .... at the end of the day ( which is usually 14-15 hrs or longer if you use EMH ), when you're leaving the parks, so is everyone else ..... the buses at night can look like a Tokyo subway ..... plus you may have to wait for the 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th bus, as they can only take on so many passengers

We have lots of experience with both driving and taking buses to all of the parks, and I can tell you that it is much faster and less of a hassle to take your car to the parks (especially at park closing time) with the exception of the MK....we stay at WL , so we take the boat there. But if you are not at an MK area resort, I have heard from alot of other people that it is better to take the bus than drive to MK for the reason you stated in your original post.
You would have to wait for transportation at the MK regardless of whether you have your car there or not. Although the above poster has a good point about the buses after closing. But if you dont like the idea of waiting a long time for buses, make sure you are near the entrance of the park at closing and it will not be as bad. We always watch Wishes from Main Street near the entrance and head out as soon as it is over.
But for the other parks, trust me....you have made the right decision to drive to them.

We always take the bus in the mornings but when we go back to the parks later, we drive. We have found that we can park close to the entrance at most of the parks and when we leave, along with hundreds of other people, we can just jump in the car and head back. Once we waited at MGM for almost 45 minutes to get a bus back to the resort. It was crazy. Driving in the evenings has worked for us but the bus system is normally not that bad so you should be fine either way.

When we last stayed at WL (Jan, 2004) we had a car. We took the boat to MK and drove everywhere else. IMHO it was much quicker than waiting for buses.

This is because the buses bypass the TTC.

That's the big difference at the MK compared to the other parks.
If you drive then you will have to take the ferry across the lake or the monorail.

Yes, you may have to wait in line for the bus for a little while but, really...driving was such a pain and in the end it was expensive, although if you stay on site i dont believe you have to pay...anyway, it took forever to get into the parking lot, find a spot, walk to the tram, take the tram to the front....ugh :brick: lol and please dont even ask about the the fighting as to who was gonna drive back to the resort...my family's nuts

For MK, definitely the bus.

At MK, the bus is easier, despite the throngs of people who will be waiting for them at park closing. However, at any of the other three parks, take your car- you will be amazed at how quickly you can exit the parks and be on your way.
