Wow, thanks everyone for your responses. I love how everyone has their own "thing" they would want to try for the first time too. I have not tried tonga toast myself, i will be in Sept. for sure!

I forgot to add in my perfect day... My first born, just turned 1 the other day, and we're taking her down in Sept for her first trip. That first morning we walk in MK, and she takes steps on Main St. for the very first time, with the castle in the backdrop and the music playing... that moment will be perfect indeed!

That is just awesome man...I cant WAIT to be in that situation!

Our first trip to Disney with the kids my son was 5 and my daughter 3. My son was such a Pooh fan, that we had to start the week with breakfast at CP. When we checked in, Tigger was at our table. My son was happy, and we took a picture with Tigger, but we could tell that was not the character he wanted. I spotted Pooh near the buffet, and there was a line of people waiting for pics with him. I took my son to get into the line. When he saw Pooh his face lit up. He was clutching my hand and jumping up and down. As my wife and daughter approached, he looked at me and said, "Dad, it is really him! That is the real Pooh! I thought it would just be a guy in a mask... but that is REALLY POOH!"

At that moment I looked at my wife and we both had tears in our eyes. I told her that no matter what happened the rest of the trip, the money we spent was well worth it. We still have the picture of the four of us with Pooh on the cover of the photo album we use for our Disney pics. The look on my son's face is priceless. You can tell that at that moment he discovered Disney Magic.

For that reason, we always start every trip with the Crystal Palace breakfast. While we may never match his pure joy again, it always takes us back to that moment. It is something I will never forget.

When you experience Disney with your children it takes on a whole new meaning. Enjoy!

(By the way, great thread idea.)

My wife and I and our best friends. 2 BR at Wilderness Lodge Villas.

10 days of sunny 70-degree days and 60-degree nights.

Record low park attendance, but with late hours and all nighttime entertainment running.

Lots of rest time, boating, carriage rides, monorail cruising.

Deluxe Dining Plan with no ADRs required - just walk up and eat whatever sounds good at the time.

Gosh, it would just be so nice to go without having my commando itinerary and touring plans and rigid schedule. That'll be the day....

I like this response except I would want it in the 80's in the day time and 70's at night.

A response to RussJT. WOW! What a Magical Moment. I kind of teared up just reading your post. It reminded me of the first time we took our children and the excitement of seeing their faces light up. You brought back some great memories for me.

A perfect day for me is a nice, sunny day where I'm able to meet all the characters I was hoping to see, and relax while watching the parade.

There are so many possible scenarios that would make for a "perfect" day for me, but if I had to narrow it down I think mine would be as follows:

*wake up in a MK view room at the Contemporary
*beautiful, sunny weather. 75-80 degree range
* extremely low park attendance
* head over to Kona Cafe for 8:30 breakfast reservation. Kona coffee and Tonga toast - yum
* Head over to MK for a few hours
* immediately hit HM, PPF, PoTC, JC, Space Mtn, BTMR, TTA
* head over to Epcot around noon for lunch at Chefs de France
* ride SSE, TT, Soarin' and Maelstrom
* Spend a few hours just walking around WS looking at the various shops and people watching.
* Ride SSE again and UofE
* Le Cellier for 6:30 dinner reservations
*Hang around Epcot until 9:00 Illuminations
*As soon as Illumnations is over, take the monorail back to MK for 10:00 Spectromagic and 11:00 Wishes
* EMH until 1:00 am, so I hit HM, PPF, PotC and BTMR again before heading back to the room
* Take a hot shower then nighty night........

What a great thread idea!! My perfect day would begin by waking up at the Beach Club Resort and sitting outside drinking some coffee while waiting for everyone else to get ready (I would be with my mom, brother, sister and husband). Then we would take the ferry over to MGM and admire the Great Movie Ride from the entrance of the park...
First we would ride ride TOT and RnRC as many times as possible. We would also go on The Great Movie Ride, Backlot Tour, see the Magic of Animation and walk through the One Man's Dream exhibit. We would have Lunch at Mama Melrose's with a bottle of wine and browse through Sid Cahuenga's on our way out.

Then we would go back to the hotel for some pool time. After a couple hours in the sun we would shower up and walk over to EPCOT. Stroll through the World Showcase, watch O Canada, have some wine in France, go on Soarin, Test Track, and sample the different coke flavors. Then we would walk back to the hotel for dinner at Cape May Buffet, stuff ourselves with clams and everything else, then waddle back to EPCOT just in time for Reflections of Earth. To wrap up our wonderful day, we would wander around the Boardwalk for a little while until we were ready to go back to the hotel for bed!

My perfect day.... MK view Contemporary (staying there on next trip...cannot wait), breakfast at Crystal Palace, space mountain, big thunder mountain, splash mountain, haunted mansion and pirates with no wait, lunch at cosmic rays (love that place), fantasyland, dinner at california grill and watch the fireworks.

Time of the Year - Early December, when the Christmas decorations are up and the crowds are low.

Resort - Polynesian or Grand Floridian

Food - not important when we are at Disney, but breakfast at Cinderella's Castle would be nice.

First half of the Day - Magic Kingdom -- with lines that are bearable, taking in our favorites, Pirates, Splash, Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion, TTA and whatever else captures our attention.

Monorail back to resort for mid-day break.

Head over to Epcot, take in some attractions in Future World, with a late lunch at Biergarten on the Candlelight Processional package and attend the 5 PM Candlelight presentation. Visit the countries in World Showcase and stake out a great location for Illuminations (or alternatively, if the Studios are open late, take the boat from International Gateway to the Studios for the Osborne Family Lights)

Back to the resort for a light meal, walking with DH on the beach at the Poly or Grand Floridian.

Just being their with my wife and sons is enough for me, but..............

want i really would want to do would just spend my vacation without the commando itinerary my wife usually has for us.............just want to take things as they come.

We are leaving for the world in 5 days and elected not to do the dining plan (we have been to every restaurant multiple times). The only ADRs we have are for the character breakfasts so there is no feeling of being rushed around to get to a dinner ADR. Small steps but to me this is huge!

BTW.................................GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, i thought it was a neat idea, especially the fact that you really do need to narrow it down, so it makes you think! For example, i would watch Illuminations, but part of me wanted to catch Spectro and Wishes...but i could only pick 1 for my perfect day! I'd love CP for breakfast, but CRT too! Decisions decisions. I'm loving your responses though, i hope we get some more. I like reading through.

Matt, you got that right! I'll be down about Week 3 of the NFL season this year in Sept....i'm going to have to bring some gear down to represent!

We actually caught Illuminations, Spectro and Wishes all in one night once. It was so unbelievable. I can't remember the exact times of what was when, I just remember that it was 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00 shows. I have never been able to catch it that way again so it is definitely a special memory for us.

Great thread Eaglesfan. Love the thought behind it.
