I think that USA Today article may have been a little premature - and they definitely shouldn't have said that Disney/Google was aiming for a tuesday release.

I am guessing there are no disney fanatics on the editorial board at USA Today, otherwise they would've know the kind of anxiety they were causing by releasing this new so early.

After looking at the source of the landing page at disneyworld.com/3dparks you can see what will become the instructions on how to access the 3d world:

Code:
1. Get Google Earth by clicking the DOWNLOAD button
2. Search Google Earth for "Disney World"
3. Click on the Mickey Ears in Google Earth to open an information window
4. Click on the "Turn on Disney 3D Layer" button in the information window

nothing really earth shattering, but interesting nonetheless - just look for the Mickey Ears to appear in Google Earth eventually.

Oh, and if you haven't installed it yet - here's the URL:

Code:
http://earth.google.com/

-edit-

This is what the download section will look like when live:

Check Back Soon

COMING SOON!

Thanks for your interest in seeing Walt Disney World® Resort in 3D. Mickey and friends are working away to make it great, but it's currently still in development. Check back again real soon — we'll share more information just as soon as we can.

The photos that you can access via the camera icons are not as good as what they have in other cities. The WDW ones look like a photo that has been curled & the quality is low. Look at a place like Philadelphia or Baltimore & you will see the photos are like a glass ball with much better quality than the WDW ones. We can only hope they upgrade the quality of the WDW photos.

Will someone promise to make a big announcement when this thing is 100% up and operational? An include "Hey dummy, here's how you do it..." instructions?
