About the format itself... keep it simple. It's okay to get inspired by other competitions, all doing new and outlandish things, but when it comes down to it what we love most about SA is that its premise is tried and true.
Oh definitely. Only changes I'm making are an effort to finish before 9/30. Otherwise, the same precedent will be utilized. :)

While I'm mentioning it, any requests/suggestions for challenges?
Oh, there's so much I'd love to make concepts for challenge wise (I've been brewing some ideas and stuff about attractions for the past month and a half off ;)), but it's your comp so that's up to you! ;) :) :D

I also agree with Z. I like how this is simple, and at the end of the day, about the fun of Imagineering!

The only thing for me I guess is that I kind of want to see an expanded number of contestants simply because the community is really growing, but that could conflict with making it over a month shorter.

Oh, and by the way: the only reason we had 3 teams last year is because we had too many people sign up. Now that the PM limit has increased, are we going to go back to the first season's practice of having 2 teams from the get-go?

(I'd rather not, because the teams might be too large, which would inhibit close teamwork.)

I believe that the teams were the right size last time to be honest.

I was actually wondering about that also. I think it could be fun to try out larger teams like on the show, but I also really like the three team format. It's unique I guess.
Also, with five people initially we could get to know and work with each other really well.

Just a thought, maybe it could be extended to 20 people of four teams of five? Though that would mean shorter challenges and more double eliminations.

I don't think it would be wise to just try having really big teams just because we can. Having smaller teams makes the contest more intimate and as you and I both saw it helps in creating a stronger team.

I think three teams made for an interesting dynamic and if we have a large number of people sign up again I would advocate for a fourth group to be made to keep the numbers from increasing (unless of course there are not enough extra people to create a fourth group.).

Then again, I do suppose it would be interesting to see slightly larger teams, just not too big maybe eight people per team?

16 contestants. 4 teams. Merge as needed. That's the last detail on that spectrum I can divulge. While it'd be great to have many more people competing (up to 20 or more), I'm trying to fit into the shorter slot as well. Gaining a contestant with a whole month less is challenging to fit in. But it can be done. :D

Originally, was going to be two teams of 8, but, like most of you, I thought smaller teams would be better and more productive.

Tease...there will be several 24 hour challenges and several double eliminations.

One Little Spark...
The only thing I am worried about is the 7 night cruise. Last cruise was the week we did the olympic pavilion for Universal in SAS1, and I participated a lot in that (so did the other two, Red and Zwei). But, most of that was text based. Text works fine, but uploading graphics / pictures, much less video content or trying to make a site, will be pretty much impossible until I get back to dry land.
