Tables in Wonderland question

I am considering getting the Tables in Wonderland card and I noticed that some non-table service locations were on the list of places that take the card such as resort food courts, some counter service at animal kingdom, etc.

My question is, do they automatically add the 18% gratuity on these (usual non-gratuity) locations as well???

thanks!

No. Gratuity is only added at table service restaurants and not the few quick serve locations that accept the card.

I understand that the qratuity is only added if the party is over 8 or 10 people.
:veryconfu

Not when you use the tables and wonderland card. If you use the discount, then 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill regardless of party size (based on the original non-discounted price of the meal).

An 18% gratuity is automatic for any table of six or more at all Table Service restaurants.

Using Tables in Wonderland, the 18% gratuity is added to any Table Service bill, regardless of group size.

TiW peeps please remember that if the 18% isn't earned (ie. you got really shoddy service...rare but it does happen) you *can* have the tip amount adjusted by a manager. Don't be a slave to the auto tip. Wait staff who see TiW guests as a sure-bet need to be kept in-check. Again, not a huge problem but it DOES happen and that info came to me directly from a table service CM friend.

Yes, you can adjust the gratuity if you think you should. However, I can't really think of times that I have gotten bad service where I would have seen this as being necessary. I usually tip 20% when I get good service, so TiW even helps out a bit with that.

Wow did not know that! Never felt the need to adjust down, but we always add if service was excellent (which at wdw it normally is)

Yeah, that's why I put the (ie. bad service) part in my post because I don't think bad service should be confused with the thought that some people have that buffets don't warrant a full tip. I, personally, think if a person is earning the reduced server wages that generally are not even minimum regular wage then they should be tipped as any tipped person would be.

I have had a few experiences with TiW where we'd see so little of our server that we were flagging down any server we could just to get a drink refill paired with waiting over 30 minutes for the server to come back to get your check. Excessive bad stuff all within the same sitting. Ya know?

I used to have a huuuuge problem when I thought I had no options to reduce a tip. Now that I know it's not written in stone I feel much better about the idea of an auto-tip. It ensures that wait staff get the minimum without being stiffed by people on vacation who innocently forget or maybe guests from other countries who's customs aren't the same as ours.

I, too, tip above the 18% for good service. Generally speaking, we like to tip cash out of pocket because A. I've worked for tips before and enjoyed the cash and B. Cash can sometimes be...uh...not declared...:animwink::animwink:

Another Tables in Wonderland Question to add here...

We have already booked and paid for our CRT reservations. I am considering purchasing a AP and signing up for TiWL. Will I be able add/use the discount at CRT even though I have already booked it and paid? I even called reservations and talked to a CM and they couldn't give me a straight anwer?

we have made reservations with the TIWL card and forgot to tell them about it several times. called back a (sometimes several days later) and never had a problem getting the adjustment done.
