Sweet Tomatoes and Cici's Pizza are two less expensive buffets offsite that immediately come to mind, which I always go to on multiple occasions despite staying onsite.Cheaper too. Once you get out of the bubble you can save some real $$$.
While that may be okay IF its expanded for passholders, its probably not going to be anywhere as good. They are going to have to do better than a measly worthless 10% they offer at select locations now.....but I doubt it will be as good as the current 20% with TIW. On the one hand sad to see it go, on the other it might be nice to not have to purchase it seperate every year. I guess this will be a wait and see game but sounds like something else for them to louse up and chip away at to offer less discounts and choices.
I think it would be nice to see the same benefits like California's Annual Passports receive.
I just want my 20% mech discount for my PAP like we used to have! I bought SOOOOOOO much more stuff then.
It's amazing how many restaurants are a stones throw on 535 and 192...

Would be nice if it also included an expansion of the DVC discounts...
This is my main reason for purchasing the card. Have a family of 6 most of the time so 18% gets added already so basically a free too. And eat at 2 or 3 signature dining a vacation so saves money really quickThe TIW card is a way to have your tip payed for. It's the way we always used it, which was nice.
I've said in another thread that I'm surprised that the price doesn't go up more often or the percentage drop of what it covers or no more alcohol covered but I never thought it would go away completely. Let's hope it's a rumor and not true. Trying to drive all the business to the dining plan perhaps?
I'm certain she said that and believes it, but I imagine the people answering the phone would be last to knowI spoke to Anne at the Tables in Wonderland office the other day and was able to confirm that the program is NOT going away. She had heard the rumors as well, but there is no truth to that. She did seem truly interested in where these rumors were coming from so she could stop them. Marie
I can but hope. It wouldn't seem to make any sense to discontinue a program that people are paying for that only gets them to come and spend more money on admissions, food etc. I hope that she is right and this program goes on for a good long time. Over the past twelve months, we have averaged just under $100/weekend dining at WDW using the TiW card. (Kept track on iBank, the iMac's Quicken-equivalent). So unless the replacement gets decent discounts, and keeps the alcohol inclusion, that will be money that gets spent either on our way to, or on our way out from, WDW. There are too many outside eateries (that cost a whole lot less for better food) that removing the card will encourage visiting that leads to the belief that management just doesn't understand how people buy. Yes, you can think that, with the card, you lose 20% of the total (less the price of the card), but getting rid of the card means that, for the most part, you will lose 100% of the bill since I won't be eating there.
Then don't.As did I, WDW seems to be intent on giving me reasons NOT to spend money there
