Switching from Code to AP

I am going in 6 days and have a reservation at Pop Century using a code rate for $74. I have now decided to get an AP and it will save me $5 per night for nine nights. Can I switch the rate when I get to the hotel or do I have to do it in advance? I have days left on my hopper and I also need to know if I can get the AP at Guest Services in Downtown Disney and get credit for my days. ALso, where is Guest Services located in DDD? Thanks for the help!

I would switch codes in advance, to be certain that they are available & make check-in as quick as possible. Guest services can switch your passes. Don't know where they are in DDD but I'm sure it is easy to find.

1) You will get credit for the purchase price of the remaining days on your parkhopper towards your AP;

2) AP rates are usually limited availability; you may have a hard time getting them this close to your stay. Call ASAP.

Good luck!

My Hoppers are from January 04 so the value is not too far off the purchase price. Thank you for the responses. I will call today when I get home from work.

Something you need to watch out for...you may be required to show an annual pass when you check in. I had this prob. the first year we bought ours. We were staying at the Poly and were almost not able to check in using the AP reservations we made. We had the voucher but it was not activated yet. We had to go back to the front desk after we got it activated and they check us in then. Other people have had just the voucher and been fine, but you have to have one or the other when you check in. Just keep this in mind!

I finally called yesterday and was able to switch my code to an AP code, only a savings of $5 per night, but at $51 that is 2 cheap meals for 3 in the parks!

Now I just have to stop at DTD and get the pass! lEAVING IN 2 DAYS :wave: :sohappy:

The current AP code for value resorts (POP included) allows you to book room only reservations for $49.00 a night, plus tax. If your original rate was $74.00 per night you should now save $25.00 per night or $225.00 for your entire stay.:wave:

DTD is not the only location where you can exchange your AP voucher for the AP pass. There are Guest Services windows outside of AK, Epcot, MGM, and the TTC (at MK).
When I exchanged my voucher (prior to check-in at the resort), I went to MGM since the Guest Services window is very close to the parking lot. We showed my voucher at the parking toll plaza & explained what we were doing and not only did they not ask us to pay to park, but they waved us up to the front row near the GS window. Very nice and easy. Wishing you such a quick and easy exchange. :wave:

I understand that the $49 AP rate does not start until after August 25. I will be home by then. Leaving in 2 days-home on the 17th. It is $69 during this time period.
