Swan vs. Dolphin- any preference?

For those who have stayed at Swan and Dolphin, what are the benefits of staying at one versus the other? IS there even an appreciable difference? Or is it like Beach and Yacht- basically the same with shared amenities? Trying to determine whether they are worth it. Adults only, no kids.

I have only stayed at the Dolphin. Usually the Swan is at a higher rate is why I pick Dolphin. The dolphin has a great pool, and a spa and I love Fresh Med for breakfast or lunch.

I haven't personally stayed at either, but my parents and brother live in FL and like to take advantage of their resident rates. They normally pick the Dolphin because of the rates (i.e. they are usually noticeably lower than the Swan), but they seem to prefer the Swan and would choose it first if the rates are close. Here's why...

1. Swan is smaller
2. The Dolphin has the bulk of the convention facilities, so Swan tends to feel less chaotic
3. Swan is Westin and they have AWESOME beds! (Dolphin is Sheraton...not bad beds...but not Heavenly beds)
4. Speaking of beds, I believe there are still some rooms in the Dolphin that have doubles instead of queens
5. My SIL prefers the Swan decor

Now, I've been inside both and both are kind of neat in their own ways. If you happen to get Starwood Resort rewards, you might also look to see if there are any special rates.

We've stayed at both and prefer the Dolphin. It's a hair cheaper and we love the lobby and amenities more. Not that you can't get this at the Swan but we had really beautiful views of DHS from the Dolphin.

They are both very similar and you can easily use the amenities of either. I suppose it comes down to price and if you want to be just that much closer to the particular one that has the restaurant or shop you prefer to frequent.
