I'M SO EXCITED FOR WINNERS AT WAR!!!! That whole preview was amazing! Seeing their reactions to the rest of the cast. Seeing KIM walk up the beach! Hearing Ethan! Listening to Parv! Having Tyson with his quick remarks! I'm so so so so excited!

I am making my Winners at War predictions. I'm going to go further than just winner picks this year. In the past I've picked one man and one woman as my winner picks, which I'll do again. But this season I'm going to try to predict pre-merge and post-merge boots. But first, here are some highlights of winner picks (from the ones I can remember).

I believe I started in season 31.

31: Vytas (ouch)
32: Liz (ouch)
33: Male - Adam (woo!), Female - Figgy (ouch)
34: Andrea (not bad)
35: Ashley (definitely not a winner, but she made it far)
36: Kellyn (not bad)
37: Male - Dan (eh), Female - Allison (not bad)
38: Returnee pick - Kelley (pretty good since she was the last returnee), Newbie pick - I think Victoria (which is pretty good)
39: Male - Tommy (woo!), Female - Molly (ouch)

Overall, pretty darn solid! Outside of Molly, I have not had a terrible pick since 33. Which means I'm probably cursing these players down below. So here are my season 40 picks. Let's start with my pre/post merge picks. No particular order. I assumed it's 7 pre-merge, 13 post-merge.

Pre-Merge Boots
Rob
Adam
Sandra
Nick
Sarah
Tony
Yul

Post-Merge
Amber
Parvati
Tyson
Ethan
Ben
Wendell
Kim
Sophie
Denise
Natalie
Danni
Jeremy
Michele

Now for my male and female winner picks...

Male: Jeremy
Female: Parvati

I know, Parvati is bold. But I feel like she has a few things going for her. She's not the threat that Rob and Sandra are. But she's a big enough threat that I think the other Tier 2 threats could band together, such as Jeremy, Kim, Tyson, etc. She also has experience playing well with a group of elite players (really coming from two fantastic tribes in 16 and 20), and fighting her way up as an early target in both seasons. But especially in HvV, she was a target the entire game. I also think she would have a shot coming back from EoE if it's an endurance challenge. But overall, she's a fantastic player. IMO the best ever. And I just have a gut feeling. I'm not sure whether that feeling is me thinking she'll win, or me being drawn in by her charm and spell. I absolutely love Parvati. My favorite player of all time.

Jeremy is less bold. He's nice. He's smart. He's strategic. He knows what it's like to be voted out. He has outside connections with many of these players. And he's not the biggest threat out there.

Some other thoughts: Adam is a big threat because he's a fan. He has a little bit of a weasel reputation from MvGX, too. He would honestly be my personal first target. Sarah would be my #2 target. She played an amazing, under the radar game. But I think these other players recognize that. I don't think Nick has the connections to last very long. He's a newbie, and some of these relationships span 15 years. I also think Yul is an incredible player, but he is mostly known for being brilliant. And with his distance from the game, he doesn't have those same connections that someone like Tyson has.

I have many other thoughts, but I'll leave it at that for now. I apologize to Jeremy and Parvati in advance.

The thing I think that will serves Parvarti well is her history. She ultimately plays a fairly loyal game AND can theoretically be beaten in the final three since this is an all winner cast. If she's on your side, she's worth playing with in a more 'strong contestant' scenario.

I don't think the players that literally lie through their teeth will do well in this season. Tyson, Sarah, Tony maybe Adam. The known weasles I think will be very early pre-merge targets.

Depending on the tribes, etc. Parvarti, Kim, Amber might coalesce. Male wise Jeremy, Wendell and maybe Rob/Yul can find his way in there.

Ethan and Danni will float along for quite a while. They just aren't threats or to be seen as good for the modern game.

Whichever of Rob or Amber go out first, will cause the other to go deep in the game. Just look at blood versus water. Stripping a player of their 'sure alliance' seems to almost remove the remaining of any threat level.

For Flavour I'll pick Kim and Yul as my winners. But I'd love to see Parvarti/Jeremy for sure.

All the players at the premiere are saying this is the best season ever. Jeff said this one is by far the best. Better than Heroes vs Villains, even. Parvati said in an ET Canada interview that it is a Survivor fan's dream. She says everything you love about Survivor will be in this season. She said we will be very happy with the outcome and the season.

You all know my love for Parvati. So obviously her words have be even more excited to see this season play out. Can't wait for tomorrow!

ET Canada's interviewer was pretty bad for the premiere, but another reason I love Parvati:

Interviewer: Do you have a favorite this season?

Jeff: I don't. Sometimes I do.

Parvati: *jumps into interview* WHAT?! *stares down Jeff*

Jeff: I do. It's Parvati. Who else could it be?

Parvati: *hugs Jeff* That was really perfect timing. *walks away and off screen*

A few questions later...

Interviewer: So who won?

Jeff: Parvati.

Parvati: *appears from the background out of nowhere, seemingly from a place she wouldn't have been able to hear Jeff* That's right, Jeff. You got the truth. Finally! *scurries off*

How can you not love her?

Also, I love the interactions this cast is having during the premiere interviews. They seem like such great friends. The winners who attended the premiere are Parvati, Rob, Amber, Sandra, Ethan, and Wendell.

I could say a lot, but I'll post just a few major takeaways from this season.

1. I am living for this Parvati/Rob alliance. How their names were never in consideration is ridiculous. They are easily two of the top three biggest threats out there. Smart of them to team up.

2. I thought taking out Natalie was the wrong move. You rocked the boat against you and brought the eyes back to you when you're really lucky you weren't a target the first time (Rob and Parvati).

3. Yul masterfully made a one-time poker game into a legitimate concern for other players. Should it have been a concern? Not really. But that's the Yul effect. I think he's lucky he got on a tribe with several one-time players, though.

4. I already feel the dark cloud of the Edge and fire tokens looming over this season. I don't care if they're winners. If they are voted out, they should not have an impact in the game. And with the negative response to EoE, the producers doubled down and gave the players on the Edge even more power this season. Ridiculous. There's too much going on. And it breaks the cohesion that the real game has. I loved that episode up until the Edge. After that I kind of had a sick feeling the rest of the way, like this great season could all be ruined because of the influence of the Edge. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't help but feel uneasy.

They’re playing to eliminate perceived alliances but by voting people out they are giving power to the remaining members of that alliance. The concept interests me but I am not sure I like it.

It is unbelievable how well Rob, Sandra and Parvarti have positioned themselves.

It might have been a mistake, simply because Rob and Parvarti started to feel bored, to pivot on to Natalie at that juncture. Jeremy and Natalie are ridiculously loyal players. BUT I suppose the fact they really have Ethan and Danni wrapped around their fingers (likely for the rest of the game) puts them in a wonderful position.

As mentioned before, not only is Rob in control, his threat level has now unnecessarily dropped off thanks to Amber's boot. All for her to start just feeding him advantages.

Kim Spalding, despite seeming like she's in an awful position, has a key underdog role to fill that might seriously help her out long term. Same with Jeremy.

I just can't believe our first two boots were 'milder players'.

Plus - there is an epic showdown brewing. Rob and Parvarti have a mutual brewing bone to pick with Sandra.

I also really don't mind EoE. People just hate it because of Chris and it happened to plop the least screen time and/or deserving person back in, too late.

We'll see how late the cut off is for the last comeback. Hopefully they learned the lesson that final 6 was too much.

Had Rick Devins won, the perspective on EoE would have been much different.

Had Rick Devens won, I still would have been furious. I hate everything about the Edge.
