Survivor: Heroes vs Healers vs Hustlers

I'm excited to see this final Tribal Council. Jeff said it's one of his favorite in all 35 seasons. Sounds like decisions will be made on the spot. It's also been said it's something we've never seen. Is it perhaps the first ever TIE?! That would be crazy, which means the 3rd person would vote for the winner. However, something we've never seen could also just be a crazy final TC.

My pick is Ben to win. From exit interviews, it sounds like Chrissy is not well-liked. My second pick to win would be Devon.

Doesn’t Jeff say that every year though?? Haha. I’m sure it will be good though.

The idol around Chrissy’s neck is the one from the advantage Ryan gave her at the beginning of the season do you think? That never came into play and could make things interesting.

Argh I think I have to go ahead and root for Devon. Bens game has become too scrambled and centered around idol finding and I can’t respect all the smugness and bickering (also why I won’t cheer for Chrissy). Ryan played strong pre-merge but hasn’t done anything to earn the win. And it just took me a few minutes to remember who the 5th person was haha - I would not be surprised at all if he was the 3rd at the end.

Jeff normally doesn't make comments on something all season long, unless it's good. He was making final TC comments before the season began.

I don't think Chrissy's idol will come into play, or we would have seen it come up more in editing or previews. Plus, at this point, the cat's probably out of the bag about that idol this far into the game.

Yeah that’s all true.

Supposed to be a really good finale, looking forward to it!!

Still pulling for Devon. Anyone but Ryan or Chrissy for me though really, lol.

Also very curious about the next season preview. I know the name and theme, but don’t really know what it means so it should be interesting.

Dalton Ross had an interesting theory about how this season they've focused a lot on character development. He said he's noticed Jeff saying a lot that so and so would be good for a Second Chance type of season. He speculated (purely speculated, no proof) that in the near future we'll have another Second Chance season. Think about it. They've put a lot into even pre-merge characters lately. And after the last Second Chance and Game Changers, it's left very few Second Chance candidates. They might be trying to build that pool with a vast amount of intriguing personalities.

These Jeff interviews with fans are so much less meaningful (not that they've ever been a fan favorite) when you know they seek out specific fans to be at the reunion show. For example, they were specifically looking for Chrissy fans to be moms over the age of 40. Devon fans they preferred to be younger. I know they are still a TV production, so I'd rather them be fake with the audience rather than what they actually do on the island during the game.

I hate this twist. The game is about voting people out. Not this.

Also, if Ben wins the fire making challenges and wins the game, he is the luckiest winner ever. He didn't win any immunities. He found idols and was saved by a twist (if he wins the fire challenge... this comment was posted before it happened). At least Mike Holloway won challenges to keep him in the game. Ben didn't even do that. But I have a feeling he's going to win and then win the game. Although I think that would create a thought in the jury that Ben wasn't even supposed to be in the final 3 in the first place. He earned it by being in the right place at the right time.

I think Devon would have won the game over Chrissy and Ryan. He got screwed because of a twist that totally alters the entire point of the game.

And Jeff just said that twist is becoming part of the show. I wonder if they are losing viewership and needing to make some drastic changes. It's interesting for the casual fan, but I think a lot of die hards and traditionalists won't like it.

I also don't remember a finale with so many commercials. And they aren't leaving much time for the final TC... only 8 minutes if it were to start right now. Usually they allow 20 or 30 minutes. Weird finale.

They just cut into the reunion show. I'm fine with that. The reunion show has gotten to be pretty boring.

I like the winner, but if I’m gonna be honest... there’s no way he isn’t 35th in my rankings. He needed artificial immunity for the last four tribals in a row. Im happy for him, but I don’t love the production value of the end game.

Ben wins. I felt like his stock was greater up until he got saved by a twist. The twist really took a lot out of this season for me. It was a good season, but the twist completely altered the end of the game. Some might say Ben earned it with the fire, but to me he was saved by the fire.

Also, the final immunity challenge was great. At first I thought, really? This is what they're doing for a final challenge? But it turned out to be one of the best battles ever.

Overall I'd say Ben is an above average winner. Not a legend like Mike said, but still good. The season overall is middle of the pack. Not my favorite, but not the worst.

I can definitely see why some would say he is last on the rankings, but he did win. Twist or not. And he did play a very good game up until he needed his idols. But he almost intentionally sabotaged his game with the way he did it. He might have been on the outs, but I think there was a way where he wouldn't have to luck out to the end.
