The Montanan bartender here personally insulted your mother, thought you should know that.

But, all kidding aside (though I'm not kidding, he really DID say some horrible things about your large mother), I'm making a point as others have been to you shut it downers, we're enjoying life and being safe about it while y'all are spouting doom and gloom and giving up your freedoms. Enjoy sitting at home with your 15th order of chilis take home for the month, I on the other hand have some shopping to do... considering a particularly flashy painting of a bison to bring home. Have fun ya miserable shut it downers!

Since DL isn't open like it should, does it have large enough freezers to help out with the pandemic? Maybe warehouse rides can be converted to ERs and ICUs.

“Some patients are waiting in ambulances because there is no space,” said L.A. County Supervisor Hilda Solis before revealing that, “Our medical examiner is receiving overflow of bodies from hospitals that are unable to store them.”
Solis continued: “My understanding is that the medical examiner will receive assistance for their operations from the California National Guard, and we’re expecting them by next Monday. It’s such a grim reality, but I’m compelled to say this because it has gotten to the point that we need to show the true toll of what this virus has taken and can take.
“There’s many situations in which as many as 10 ambulances are waiting to offload patients, and those patients are being cared for and treated in the ambulances as if it’s part of the emergency room bay,” said L.A. Director of Health and Human Services Dr. Christina Ghaly.
“Hospitals are treating patients in other areas that are not typically used for patient care at all,” she continued, “not just not used for inpatient care. They’re using places like conference rooms or gift shops to provide patient care.”
This can't be right. We've been assured by medical experts on this very board that the hospitals have plenty of room. Plenty of room!

Who of the “shut it downers” are currently miserable and not enjoying their lives? @lazyboy97o? @unmitigated disaster? @Disney Irish? Have you guys and gals been moping on your couches every day?

And lol at the thought that we should be jealous of you going shopping for a painting of a bison in Montana. We’re for sure missing out on that! LMAO.

Well, I did have to put my kitty to sleep in September. I had her for 16 years.

I won’t be sad at all if folks here finally decide to leave. It doesn’t concern me at all when folks leave their home states in general. That’s been happening for centuries.

It's a big world. If someone feels they would be happier somewhere else, they should leave. Not sure some make these grandiose statements about wanting or threatening to leave a place is some kind of insult directed at others happy in where they are living.

Good luck to anyone thinking a change of scenery will do them some good.

Exactly. I’m not insulted, nor bothered at all when folks leave. I’m actually trying to leave myself (hoping to eventually move out of the country within the next ten or so years). Nothing wrong with leaving, but yeah, it seems some folks (speaking in general terms) attempt to make others feel bad about staying put when they announce their departure. Random strangers aren’t going to care.

I hope everyone finds a place that makes them happy.

I'm doing my part in trying to improve the senseless wasteland that is California with this bison picture... It's potentially quite large and gaudy...

I've personally had 3 verbal offers on my house today alone (one was an all cash offer too), and my house is not even on the market. I have to keep telling them I'm not selling. But hey what do I know, I keep hearing about this mass exodus (same thing I've been hearing for the past 30+ years).

Huh? Your house is not on the market, and thus not registered in the MLS system, and yet three separate people have just wandered up to you and offered to buy your home?

Out of curiosity, where the heck do you spend the morning of New Year's Eve that three different people wander up and offer to buy your home that is not for sale?

I mean, I live in a large, older home in a desirable OC neighborhood with excellent schools and I get around with a busy social calendar these past two weeks, but that's not a topic of conversation that comes up over dinner or drinks. Especially when my house is not on the market and not in the MLS system.

I haven't been in this much because rehashing the same arguments over and over and over is tedious to me, however,
Mary Ann died today of covid!!! How can anyone now not be for a complete lock down!??? We've got to stop this before Ginger goes!

I haven't cared since Mrs. Howell passed 30 years ago, to be perfectly honest.

I don't know about you, but people offer to buy my house on the daily.
There must be a cardboard shortage somewhere...

The grand total is 2,320,430.

You're also assuming hospitals keep functioning, which isn't the case at the moment.

And what you haven't reckoned with - these deaths are preventible. There is an effective vaccine. If we can survive another couple of months, everyone can get vaccinated and not get covid and die.
