Surprise ideas for my mom

Hey all:

My mom and I are taking a quick, last minute trip to WDW this weekend. I'm taking off work tomorrow and we'll be heading down to POFQ once she's off work. I was wondering if you had any ideas as to how I may do a nice surprise for her?

She's having a very tough/stressful time at work right now and she's been so anxious over it that even I'm losing sleep worrying about her :( I thought it would be nice if I could do something unexpected for her but since I'm a graduate student, my budget is definitely limited. It's not her birthday or anything so I can't tell the resort we're celebrating to have that little surprise for her. I know you all are creative so I thought I'd see if you had ideas :)

Thanks!

Thanks for the ideas everyone! I love La Nouba but it's definitely out of my budget haha. The SeaRaycers and horseback riding have been bookmarked to look at, although I think that's more fun for me than Mom :o

The carriage ride sounds lovely so I'll have to poke around and see how that works since I've never done it. I'm also thinking of somehow sneaking off on my own to get some mouseketeer ears personalized for her...she loves little things like that. You guys have my wheels turning :drevil:

Edit: didn't see the spa idea. Hmm... :)

Don't splurge for a full-blown massage. Just look for a Mani/Pedi at the GF Spa. It's a little something and she will love it. You could even follow it up with high tea in the GF lobby...

How about going to the Grand Floridian's Tea Room for afternoon tea? I know this is a favorite for mothers & daughters. I was going to go with my husband in April, but can't bear to go without my mom. Whenever I think of the perfect mother/daughter activity in Disney, I think about this. :)

I would do the carriage ride at POR. I am a mom and I loved it. its only around $30 plus tip for the driver. a special dinner somewhere would be nice if you can get in this late. enjoy your magical trip. Nice of you to think of your mom.......

Thanks! You all have such great ideas. I'm writing them all down so I can spring a nice surprise on her throughout the year (we have season passes) The carriage ride and tea are really great since she actually doesn't know about them, despite having been to WDW dozens of times.

I knew I could count on you all :) Thanks so much!!

Edit: Looking at the tea... can two adults do it? I'm 20something, not a 3-11 princess like the site says haha. Just want to make sure!
