Surprise fastpasses

In August, I got a surprise fastpass with my Mission: Space one for HISTA, I was wondering, is there a surprise fastpass for everyone that gets a pass for the original ride? If not wouldn't that cause problems for family members that don't obtain a bonus fastpass?

On my last trip I got given FPs for MS and RnRC by people that had them but couldn't use them due to their screaming kids, we walked on the rides there and then!

Surprise fast passes are usually given out at Test Track and Mission Space when you have over a two hour wait for the ride you want. The only bad thing is that with all the surprise fast passes the line at HISTA is really long, and most of the wiat is due to the surprise fast passes. many times i have seen guests get out on the fast pass line and get into the stand by line for it was shorter. i think they should get rid of the surprise fast passes for HISTA it is a waste of paper.

We too have recieved surprise fast passes for mission space at test track last august,this was around 10AM, so there definately wasn't a 2 hour wait for either attraction. However this was jut after the full opening of M:S and eveybody appeared to be getting them , so maybe it was just disneys way of saying 'hey, we have a big new ride just to your left, wanna try it?'.
As it happened we had been planning to get fast passes for TT and then ride M:S, so it worked out perfect for us.

I have never gotten a surprise FP. I have however be given FP by people who had problems and couldn't ride the attraction. "EX: little kid scared of Space MT...." That has always made my day, because the lines those days were LONG and i didn't have time to ride my rides i wanted.... Maby only 2....

I may go to Epcot and try one of them... but if it is for HISTA, i will give it away, i do not enjoy that show after 4 times....
