Super Soap Weekend

Hello,
We are arriving Friday, Nov. 14 for our next trip and leaving that Monday, the 17th. We are only going to the parks on our full days (Sat and Sun), and had planned on going to HS on Sat. I have two young children that absolutely have to see TSM and the Cars meet and greet. How crowded will it be for Super Soap Weekend? I didn't realize this was going on when I planned the trip, we usually go in October. I have no desire to meet Soap stars, I'm there for Disney magic. :)

We have had the same thing happen to us, and it was insane there. I planned my trip around it this year, so we won't have to deal with it. It is sick - all grown women trampling one another to get where they need to be. I am an ABC soap fan and would never do it again. We figured we would just avoid the areas where they were, but that's not possible.

Avoid it if at all possible!

The same thing has happened to me as well. We will be arriving Nov.11 and staying through the 17th and was suppose to go to DHS Saturday the 15th... I had NO idea this was going on either! So I switched my days around and it worked out that we were able to change our ADR'S at Sci-Fi. My suggestion (from what I've read everwhere else) is stay clear of there if you're not going for SSW. Have a great trip!

Oops

I did the same thing.. We are arriving on Thursday the 13th though, so I guess we will be doing our DHS day on FRI to beat the soapee's.. Hopefully it wont be too bad.. I went last year for ESPN weekend and it wasn't THAT bad.. I'm guessing this wont be anywhere near the crowds that ESPN had. Plus during the big shows and parades the queues will thin out and it gives you a chance to get your ride on :p.. See u there

We went a couple of years ago during the Soap weekend and the worst part was the hotel. We were staying at the Beach Club which is where the soap people were staying. Random weird fans lurking everywhere, extra security and the Soap people just went wherever they wanted whenever, they jumped ahead of crowds waiting for elevators, they were loud, etc.

dont even consider going if your not a soap fan. no matter what people tell the rides and shows wll have extremely long lines from husbands and other visitors at the park in addition to the closure of lights motors action and some other park attractions. expect tsm to have a minimum 2 hour wait on saturday. sorry thats just the way it is.
