In 4 years of visiting Disney we just can't bring ourselves to eat here and it's the smell! It smells like a nurshing home or something in there. We read posts about how good the food is, but just doesn't seem appealing. Anyone else struggle with this or even notice?

I have never even noticed. Sunshine Seasons is one of the best quick service locations in all of WDW with a varied menu that will suit almost any taste. Quite honestly, I wish they would clone it in the other 3 parks.

For us it's not so much the smell but now that you say it, I think you're right. It is an institution-ish cafeteria smell. I've also read where so many people rave about the food there but in all the meals we've had there we never had that experience. It's cafeteria-fare. I hate cafeteria food. I wouldn't pay a nickel to go to the Picadilly's/Luby's/Morrison's of the world. However, the pre-packaged fruit, veggies, & salads can be a refreshing snack option. And we've enjoyed some of the deserts from the far left kiosk. Otherwise, we haven't found anything noteworthy.

I've never had any problem with the smell, if anything I have the opposite reaction that you do. I think that the water from Living with the Land combined with the smell of the Rotisserie make for an interesting combination.

Love Living with the Land smell! Yeah, I've never noticed a bad smell in Sunshine Seasons.

The Sunshine Seasons seating area is indeed a hybrid smell of the entire Land pavilion. But once in the actual joint, it is more of a food-y scent. I'm jonesin' for the pork right about now!

I've only eaten there once, but I was not a fan of it. Of course, I was 17 weeks pregnant and basically all smells made me really sick. But I know the smell you mean!

Last time I was at WDW, I ate at Sunshine Seasons three days in a row. I guess I never noticed any kind of bad smell! :D

The smell is funky. Every time we walk into the Land it is like walking into a wall of funk.
The food good. Give them a try.

Funny! I've always enjoyed the smell of the land, and usually end up eating at Sunshine Seasons because it smells so good when I walk in.

never noticed the smell before... If I'm grabbing counter service in Epcot, Sunshine Seasons is the only place I'll eat... No more Electric Umbrella... The food at EU last time I ate there was just nasty...

I've noticed the smell... I didn't think of it as a nursing home... but, sometimes my school cafe smells like that. The food is extremely good though. Everything we ate, each time, was excellent. I'll bet is a combination of different smells all at one place.

I think some of the smell might come from the people at certain times. I know there have been places that the bad smell is on and off. And dude, there is some rank BO smell in some of those places.

Speaking of smells...Ever smelled your hand after touching the hand bar in a Splash Mountain log? Jesus Christ...

This has to be one of the weirdest threads on this site I have seen so far. I would think it is an April fools joke but the timing is wrong. Sunshine Seasons smells like spicy- grilled-ethnic-smoky food all mixed together. Really not that different from some mall food courts I have been to.
