I was just told by my DDs that my son is coming over here to get me out of the house for awhile. They have something up their sleeve. :ROFLOL: :sohappy:

Hi Jenny! I'm good. This week might not be as hellish as I'd originally thought. It might actually turn out ok. :D How are you today?

Well, that's good. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Hey girls. Doing pretty good. How are you ladies today?

Well, this was a busy morning round here - kind of a taste of back to school craziness. Joel had his social skills class, then I took Abby to Walmart for some school clothes shopping. Got her 3 pr of jeans, a shirt, and some undergarments. We'll do some more shopping on Thursday at our mall. Kohl's is having a sale right now. We also had to exchange her backpack, as the one I had originally purchased started ripping. :brick: We ended up with one much better made, for only about $3 more. :sohappy: I also found a large tote bag, a beach bag really, for our Florida trip that will be handy for taking towels and sunscreen to the pool. For the trip down it can comfortably hold our snacks.
And that pretty much sums up my morning.

Yes, it's interesting taking a 'tween' shopping. I'm finding myself biting my tongue, acting more as an advisor than deciding for her. As long as she meets our requirements for modesty, she can decide which of the current trends look 'cool' to her.
and that's sometimes the best thing. You've gotta let them decide for themselves. They may look back and think...what was I thinking with that...but it's the self-exploration that is what matters. (Remind me of this when my kids come home wearing all black and looking goth someday. :lookaroun )

Oh, I will. :D Abby's pretty conservative actually - right now anyway. Couple of years from now it could get interesting. Her main concern right now is looking like a fifth grader and not 'a little kid'.

I wonder if that was my Mom's thinking when she let me get a perm in my bangs when I was young. :lookaroun Hmmm....interesting. Here all this time I thought she didn't like me.
