I was lucky enough to work from home for the first 10 years with the kids. I now work as a nursing assistant/patient flow coordinator in a pediatricians office. I have never had any desire to be in the medical field and not sure how I got here.

Thinking about changing jobs too. Wish I kew what I wanted to be when I grew up...

How old are your kids?

I want to know what I want when I grow up. My 49th BD is Tuesday so I am almost grown. I need to figure it out pretty fast.

Susan - I found the website
The house we had was Villa 2 there , and it was amazing! They say it sleeps 16, but there's eally no reason that you couldn't bring a couple of air mattresses too - they wouldn't know!

Actually talking about the 2 youngest (different marriage) The two oldest are grown and out of the house. I'm a granny to a little girl who will be 1 at the end of October, her daddy just turned 28 a few weeks ago. Sister is 25

The younger kids are 16 and 14. Their dad is 36. :o or :sohappy: depending on my mood but mostly :sohappy: .

You've only got a couple of years on me and I really have no idea where life is going to take me. . When I was little my mom said that I only ever said I wanted to be a grandma. At this point I may just retire and cut out the middle stuff!

It worked Susa - they just called - thy're about 30 minutes away.

That's great! Glad they're okay. I was going to ask if they had a cell phone.

I hate when my family is out/late and doesn't call. Don't they realize my whole life is in that car?

See I'm a worrier too. :p

Hello all.

Hello Stephanie, I was just reading what you had written. I know you had a bad experience student teaching, but maybe you would be interested in trying again. How much credit are you short for yearly childhood education? Can you finish up threw on-line credits. Maybe much to do, but if that is what you want to do, it's easy to get it over with instead wishing you should have finished.
Granted, everyone in here has regrets in life, but when it comes to something that could make you happy or just doing something that has no fullfilment, I would go with making me happy.
I am back to school again. Only taking 3 courses. But I have a goal and was waylaid for awhile, but now I am back on track and can't wait to finish up.

Just my two cents, but goodluck in your decision.
Thanks, Dan. I actually have thought about trying to finish it up...if it's not too late. We're talking close to 10 years ago that I was taking these classes. I don't know if credits expire or not.
It would be slow-going $$-wise finishing up, but I think it would be worth it in the end.

So true!

So, it's 10 :15 and my family still is not home - I think I need Susan to worry for me.....
Yikes! Maybe they stopped for a snack or something.....
I had a student teaching experience from HELL. On the last day, she called me socially inept, immature, and asked me if I was on medication because I stood there taking all her crap. She "generously" gave me a C+ for the course, only because she didn't want my not graduating hanging over her conscience.

Fast forward to now, I have a job as a 6th grade English teacher, and I've had to turn down 9 schools. She had told me if I followed her advice and went to a private school, she'd recommend me. I got the job at my school without her help...so basically it's all a big "eff you" for her (sorry :lookaroun)

I hope you find what you're looking for. And frankly, the other rewards far outweigh the money problems...but I do hope it changes anyway
Thanks, Regina. Looking back, it was SUCH a bad decision not to just finish up. But I was young, frustrated, and caught up in working for the mouse that it seemed like the right thing at the time. :hammer:

DBF has the same opinion...he thinks the rewards & piece of mind for me would far outweigh the money. :o

:sohappy: :sohappy: Oh good, I'm so glad Betty
