Trip Report SummerPalooza: When 1 resort reservation morphs into 5 resorts

We have had a few trips this year that were odd for us. The trip where my family had to end their vaction but I stayed on for 3.5 more weeks. I didn't even book a return ticket. Never did that before. My April/May Flower Trip Report: https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/the-one-way-ticket.939721/#post-8162457

This report will start out mostly of semi in-the-moment of the day posts at least for the first half of 3 weeks as we all will be arriving at different points. Like the above report I am not overly wordy but enjoy posting photos of WDW and Food along with adult beverages. Sometimes a tad odd to me behaviors in the parks.

This trip kept expanding in days and as a result resorts this time for reasons I will get around to explaining later, for now mostly photo's of the day. Hope you enjoy.

EDIT: Most of these photos will be Apple Live photos for those of you with Apple devices.

Not really. A rope is not really a great safety barrier for trains. OSHA even seemed a small fence around moat at castle was only partially adequate when a child drowned. Disney 50% liable. A rope at a rail crossing allows for a child to slip under like we see at parades. Ropes for rope drop which our beloved @Tuvalu loves after the opening show at the MK is fine but I question how OSHA would consider this an adequate barrier given their previous rulings. If you look at attractions with gates before crossing from Small World to to Thunder etc this is flimsy and minimalist at best

If Disney stations a CM plus at Town Square, Frontierland and Fantasyland with metal gates at rail crossings why would they move to a single rope? Is the metal gates unnecessary?

You raised a few interesting points there. Hadn't thought about metal gates.

Is it wrong to be totally jealous of this picture?

I really was disappointed when Disney switched to the H2O brand from their Disney branded line but was won over by their more quality brand of product. I have bought the H2O products from Kohl’s in the same flavor as Disney gives guests. We tip very well. We get towel animal towels, blankets, pillows and abundant amount of towels, and piles of H2O products. I stash and more appear.

She says thank you 😊

The dress is a Lula Roe. They travel very well. She stalks many of the consultants FB pages for sales and give always. She has about 20. My favorite is her Small World and Her SSE dresses. She generally pays $10-15 each. Leggings about $7-10. She learned from the master on never paying rack rate. Current stalking is the Mine Mine Mine leggings.
Love them btw what's rack rate? and hand me downs accepted;)

I was just reading a new members 1st trip ever at 50y with is wife at Shades. He antidotes casually walking between Shade and Poly noting an alligator swimming in the pond between the resorts. 😮

I still lay claim to being most taken a back by the baby gator in the middle of the walkway at the MK between Barnstormer and Space. Just sunbathing away this past spring. 😳
I wonder if it was this guy

Lunch at Polite Pig which is under construction for their outdoor dining portion Ribs. Corn was meh, Max Cheese good and baked beans excellent as was the mini corn muffin. This is weird to say but the slaw was a bit to fresh. I know. 😉 I love slaw but it needs several hours to slightly soften the cabbage.

Sauces were good. I liked the spicy more than the sweet. Mustard BBQ one was tasty but didn’t compliment anything. The BBQ ranch was real good and I dumped it on my slaw

The ribs were smoked and rubbed. Tiny bit of sauce. A lot of meat on thes ribs. View attachment 310874View attachment 310875View attachment 310876

I know....I'm REALLY late, but real life got in the way. So I have a question about Polite Pig. Do you pick your sides or does it automatically come with everything? Can you make exchanges? I don't like slaw or baked beans, but I love mac and cheese and I don't mind corn bread, love corn on the cobb...but I'd hate to waste food by throwing away things I don't like. I'd much rather get more of something else, or just not have the slaw and beans. The ribs look great, as does the mac and cheese...and PP is on our list of counter service places to check out.

I'll answer this for you. You chose your side. It automatically comes with coleslaw and corn bread. Hubby and I each got a different side and shared because there is plenty.

Thank you! That helps. I guess I'll just tell them not to give me slaw so I don't have to waste it. I wonder how much food is thrown away every day at Disney.

A ton, I'm sure.... I'm not a huge fan of coleslaw, but I do occasionally like it. I do remember liking theirs, although I didn't eat all of it. Maybe they have a substitution? I'm not sure... I could always check in November, but not sure when you are going to know if that would help!

Oh, we're not going there until July/August, so plenty of time. And when I'm there, I can just ask if I can substitute, and if not, I'll just have them hold it. I've actually heard about places that have programs where you can pay a bit extra for a coffee or a sandwich or something, and they make a little ticket for it that they hang up and homeless people can come in and use that ticket to get a meal. Not that I think Disney should necessarily implement that particular system, but I bet they could feed a LOT of needy people with the amount of food that people don't actually eat. It would be kind of cool if you could donate items you don't want to a shelter or something. I'd totally do that.
