There's been alot of talk about MSEP staying after Aug. 14th. Any news about Wishes coming back on schedule?
And despite all the good reviews the updated firework show has received, Wishes is much more Disney classic, introduces a new whole fantasy theme for the night and the story is much much better than Mayhem fireworks (well Nightastic night ones).
Wishes should be back on 8/15/2010.
Don't worry it will. SNFS is a very expensive shoot...one of the most expensive ones Disney has done on a regular basis. That reason alone will insure that it will have a limited shelf life.I really hope so. SNFS is a good show, and it's nice to see something new, but so far I've seen SNFS, Hallowishes, and Holiday Wishes - just one time each - and none of them holds a candle to Wishes as far as I'm concerned, even though I've seen it probably 50 times.
I'll be terribly disappointed if Wishes does not return. It doesn't have to be August 15, but I sure hope it comes back.
I am shocked by some of the sentiments here. Have any of you scene the Nightastic fireworks in person? Don't get me wrong, I love Wishes!, but I don't think it holds a candle to Nightastic. Judging by the reactions of the crowd on the several nights I recently saw it, I would wager a fair amount that the general parkgoing public prefers Nightastic, as well.
I would rank the MK fireworks shows as follows:
1. MVMCP's
2. Nightastic/P&P Party
3. MNSSHP
Distant 4. Wishes!
The top 3 are all neck and neck for me. If I didn't love Christmas so much, Nightastic's likely would be #1.
The only fireworks I've seen that I liked is Wishes. Epcot is boring, even with the Inferno Barge. The X-mas Wishes is terrible, so tacky.
I'm looking forward to seeing Nightastic though. I start driving down tonight!
Have to agree there. IMHO Illuminations is one of the best musical scores in the history of the planet.apparently you don't have an appreciation for finely scored music and the story it tells?
IllumiNations (even as old as it is) is still a marvelous feat as far as my book is concerned...the portrayal of the creation of the world, heating and cooling, the rise of individual nations, and the coming together of the global community all done with Pyro and Hydrotechnics and scored to music is simply Stunning!
While Wishes is pleasant and enjoyable...it's somewhat laughable at the same time IMO. In terms of pure enjoyment and excitement from beginning to end, HalloWishes is at the top of my list for MK fireworks...not a single dull moment there!

I've seen Illuminations at least a dozen times and I've never gotten any of the story you give it. Not doubting you, just saying it's never come across to me.
I've met the guy who was in charge of designing and building the barges (Professional Development course for Engineers at DU) and I totally get how awesome the tech is behind it. But beyond that, Illuminations to me is just zzzzzzzz
