There's been alot of talk about MSEP staying after Aug. 14th. Any news about Wishes coming back on schedule?

And despite all the good reviews the updated firework show has received, Wishes is much more Disney classic, introduces a new whole fantasy theme for the night and the story is much much better than Mayhem fireworks (well Nightastic night ones).

Agreed. SNFS has some cool effects (pretty much just the perimeter fireworks and the fireworks on the castle), but Wishes encompasses more movies, has better themed fireworks (like the stars, frowny face, sparkles after Once Upon a Dream, Genie, etc.), and a better storyline/theme, and is far more classic.

Wishes should be back on 8/15/2010.

I really hope so. SNFS is a good show, and it's nice to see something new, but so far I've seen SNFS, Hallowishes, and Holiday Wishes - just one time each - and none of them holds a candle to Wishes as far as I'm concerned, even though I've seen it probably 50 times.

I'll be terribly disappointed if Wishes does not return. It doesn't have to be August 15, but I sure hope it comes back.

Don't worry it will. SNFS is a very expensive shoot...one of the most expensive ones Disney has done on a regular basis. That reason alone will insure that it will have a limited shelf life.

I am shocked by some of the sentiments here. Have any of you scene the Nightastic fireworks in person? Don't get me wrong, I love Wishes!, but I don't think it holds a candle to Nightastic. Judging by the reactions of the crowd on the several nights I recently saw it, I would wager a fair amount that the general parkgoing public prefers Nightastic, as well.

I would rank the MK fireworks shows as follows:
1. MVMCP's
2. Nightastic/P&P Party
3. MNSSHP
Distant 4. Wishes!

The top 3 are all neck and neck for me. If I didn't love Christmas so much, Nightastic's likely would be #1.

I have seen them because I work here and I didn't like wishes and I want that back badly! Why can't we have awesome firework shows like in DL? Dumbo and Tink flying around, oh man. This one just didn't leave a huge impact on me as previous ones did.

Don't get me wrong, the perimeter fireworks are awesome and yesterday I saw them from the California Grill from the outside area and that was pretty awesome! It's a whole different viewing experience from up there.

I really hate Wishes, I hope they come up with something else before Nightastic ends but they probably wont. I would be very happy if they brought back Fantasy in the Sky.

The only fireworks I've seen that I liked is Wishes. Epcot is boring, even with the Inferno Barge. The X-mas Wishes is terrible, so tacky.

I'm looking forward to seeing Nightastic though. I start driving down tonight!

Like I said, I've seen each of your top three once, and Wishes many times, and I prefer Wishes. To each his own I guess.

I love Wishes.

The Summer Nightastic Fireworks are also amazing (I have only seen them in video), but I have a special emotional connection with Wishes so I would feel kind of sad if they removed it. So I am glad it is coming back.

apparently you don't have an appreciation for finely scored music and the story it tells?

IllumiNations (even as old as it is) is still a marvelous feat as far as my book is concerned...the portrayal of the creation of the world, heating and cooling, the rise of individual nations, and the coming together of the global community all done with Pyro and Hydrotechnics and scored to music is simply Stunning!

While Wishes is pleasant and enjoyable...it's somewhat laughable at the same time IMO. In terms of pure enjoyment and excitement from beginning to end, HalloWishes is at the top of my list for MK fireworks...not a single dull moment there!

Have to agree there. IMHO Illuminations is one of the best musical scores in the history of the planet.

I've seen Illuminations at least a dozen times and I've never gotten any of the story you give it. Not doubting you, just saying it's never come across to me.

I've met the guy who was in charge of designing and building the barges (Professional Development course for Engineers at DU) and I totally get how awesome the tech is behind it. But beyond that, Illuminations to me is just zzzzzzzz

You miss so much if you don't know the story of the show! :brick:

I like Wishes. Its a great show; but it would be nice if they didnt "thin the show" when it returns. I'd like to see all the effects/pyro return. I'd even like to see it with perimeters sometime. However, my all-time favorite is Celebrate America! I just love that show. Nightastic! is second on my list.
