I see them every night, and I used to see Wishes every night. Wishes used to pep me up and brighten my mood, but I only really like SNFS because it makes the crowds go down for a little while. To me, there's nothing really exciting or magical about it.

The biggest reason I want Wishes back is because SNFS is ten times louder and I may go deaf soon from hearing that ending every night. :lol:

I arrived from Orlando the other day. I did catch the Summer Nightastic Fireworks, and I thought it was awesome. Though Wishes and SN! are tied for best finale, I do have to say the perimeter fireworks were pretty cool. The Pirates of the Caribbean part was spectacular also (I thought the pyro shooting out of the castle was going to burn the place). Both are great shows, wouldn't mind if one stayed and one went.

About Illuminations, that show is amazing, hands down. Too bad I missed it (I was in EPCOT the day I left) though I've seen it 3 times ..I wouldn't want it replaced, though a small upgrade would be good.

It all depends on what kind of experience you're looking for. SN is definately awesome. I especially like when it appears the castle is under attack, and of course the perimeter fireworks! Wishes is more of an emotional experience - at least for me. If you've ever gone through tough times and wished with all your heart that things would work out - and then they do - the whole story behind Wishes really hits home. I also happened to get engaged on the beach at Poly during Wishes, so I'm a little biased!! It's always fun to hear others' point of view. I'm arriving on Aug. 16th, and haven't been there since the engagement in 2004. It is the #1 thing I'm looking forward to, so I REALLY hope they stick to the plan!

Judging by the reactions of the crowd on the several nights I recently saw it, I would wager a fair amount that the general parkgoing public prefers Nightastic, as well.

I would rank the MK fireworks shows as follows:
1. MVMCP's
2. Nightastic/P&P Party
3. MNSSHP
Distant 4. Wishes!

The top 3 are all neck and neck for me. If I didn't love Christmas so much, Nightastic's likely would be #1.

I guess we all have different taste cause I would rate them differently
1. Wishes
2. Holiday Wishes
3. Summer Nightastic
4. HalloWishes

different strokes for different folks i guess, I for one will be happy when Wishes returns.

I won't go so far as to say I hate Wishes, but I agree with you about Fantasy in the Sky - I LOVED that show!!!! Still miss it...

I guess I have to admit, given my earlier quote about preferring Wishes, that the one time I saw SNFS I watched it from my standard Wishes viewing spot, on the bridge to Tomrrowland, from which the castle isn't really visible. I think you're the third or fourth person who mentioned the attack on the castle sequence, which I basically missed. So maybe I owe SNFS another chance from a different vantage point. Maybe after the "2U" or "Slippery When Wet" shows next month.

Wishes WILL return on August 15th. We only have enough product til then. To extend it beyond that the decision would had to have been made back in April/May.

I would rank the MK fireworks shows as follows:
1. SN!FS/MMM
2. HalloWishes
3. MVMCP
4. Wishes!

Now please don't get me wrong, I love Wishes, it does make me cry, just about every time, but HalloWishes has some teeth to it and is very entertaining. The MVMCP Holiday fireworks are great too. It's just not the holidays at Disney without them.

As for Nightastic, I have not yet seen it in person. From what I have seen of the MMM show on YouTube and the SN!FS show here and there, the fireworks program is far superior to all of them. I have never gotten goosebumps from watching recorded fireworks before, but this program gives me goosebumps. It's Disney pyro perfection IMHO.

I tried to see MMM back in 2008, but Disney did not put on the MP&PP's that year, so I went solo and had a great time, but I really wanted to see those fireworks. When I heard that the SN!FS program was going to be roughly the same fireworks show, I booked a trip so fast that it would have made your head spin. I booked a trip in early August. I don't do heat. I don't do humidity. I don't like to sweat and even worse, I hate crowds. But, we are going and going with a big ol' :D because I can't imagine missing this opportunity. I hope to be as wowed in person, if not more so than I was when watching it on online. Just 41 days to go!

I am a huge Illuminations fan...so Boohoo to anyone who says otherwise lol

Wisshes is great...but sadly the fireworks itself is behind most of the other shows listed.

I wish WDW did more of the different shows like Remember Dreams Come True fireworks show as an example.... and why is it we never get Julie Andrew's to narrate any of our shows?

Get some ear plugs. Protect your hearing. Once it is gone you are out of luck, and even a single instance can kill it, so if you are doing this every night you will pay the price down the road.

I don't mean to nag, but I have seen too many young people think they were too cool for ear plugs and end up essentially deaf before their 30th birthday. It's one of those lessons you can't afford to learn the hard way.
