he mentions in the video that they're working with Pogo to create music video pieces of Disney films. here's a preview of his work -

Ummmm...... Maybe I'm just getting old, but I don't get it.

Even after I have a couple of those Glowjitos they'll be serving at the Glow Bar, I don't think I'm going to get these videos.

Or am I just totally out of it and everyone else understands these?

I love the concept -- making music out of random noises from the films with beats. I just think they're wayyy too repetitive, especially the one for Alice. As background noise and playing on screens it will give a pretty cool Disney at night vibe, but I think they could have a lot more fun with these honestly.

yep, they're a bit different.. but they seem to be really popular online, so popular in fact that Disney hired this guy to create a music video when Up was released. I think it will be fun, should create a pretty fun atmosphere - we'll have to wait and see what they come up with for the party.

in other news, the Summer Nightastic banners/billboards are now up around the resort. While the website and commercial use the old Nightastic logo, these new ads feature the new one -

The setup for Glow Fest is going up very quickly at DCA. They had a lot of light towers being set up along Hollywood Blvd in HPB, as well as giant themed boxes that will probably hold projectors/lighting equipment. It's shaping up to be a pretty big event.

Glow Fest opened up yesterday at DCA. Although the 6:15 event was cancelled last-minute, the late-night festival started at 8:15. It was bright, loud, very colorful, and very different from a normal Disney event (think NYE or Grad Nite parties).. They had a live DJ, two bars on opposite ends of the street, and all kinds of projections and lights with dancers throughout the entire street. Very fun atmosphere but certainly not for everyone. They had the Disney remixes by Pogo playing now and then - with the videos playing on the dozens of TV screens lined up along the street.

It takes sounds and phonemes of the dialogue and mixes them into really trippy tracks.

Summer Nightastic we all waiting for this,Kinda surprised they kept the Summer Nightastic, name, since World of Colour is the head-liner. World of Colour brings Disney animation to life with powerful fountains that are the stars of the show, forming the world’s largest projected water screen, now it open between june11-august 29,I think all enjoy and like it very much.

Word is that Fantasmic! is now sporting some fancy colored lasers similar to World of Colors... Not sure ifs its true but as soon as I find video of it I'll post it here. Upgrades to Fantasmic! are always welcome.

^ I actually saw the new lasers when Fantasmic returned back in May. I heard they are currently going through their final programming so they are even more apparent now. They are very bright and vibrant, with full color. Certainly a huge improvement over the old green/red lasers which were often barely visible. In addition to the lasers they also added new fog machines to that create a thicker mist.

Here's a video I found, although it doesn't capture how bright they really are. they make a cool wave effect that kinda hovers in the sky over the audience :)

New video from the Disney Parks Blog - Summer at DCA:

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2010/07/whats-happening-at-disney-california-adventure-park-this-summer/

In January, we began sharing a series of videos (with the help of our host, Eddie) to document all the exciting changes coming to Disney California Adventure park.

Today’s video focuses on the new attractions and shows that are available at Disney California Adventure park this summer. “World of Color” and Silly Symphony Swings are now open, and we’re also sharing video of the nighttime party Glow Fest and Lotso, a “Toy Story 3” character now appearing in Disney’s Pixar Play Parade.

If you’re looking for more details about what’s coming to Disney California Adventure park, check out www.DisneysCaliforniaAdventure.com or visit the Blue Sky Cellar in the park.

An update on the very popular Glow Fest, along with a video on the Disney Parks Blog:

High-Energy Glow Fest Gets Power Surge This Weekend

Glow Fest, a really popular experience at Disney California Adventure park this summer, will be even more lively July 30 through August 1. While I don’t want to spoil any surprises, we want to reward our loyal Disney Parks Blog readers with a little inside information.

Every night this weekend, Glow Fest is charging up the night with a live DJ, colored shirt nights, and even more fun activities.
Check out these highlights:

Friday, July 29 – YELLOW SHIRT NIGHT

  • DJ CeeS spins live Friday night.
  • Around 8:30 p.m., meet on Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood Picture Backlot to get the low down on a fresh dance move (it’s an “everybody-join-in dance lesson”)
  • About 8:45 p.m. DJ CeeS spins a track and everybody shows off the new Friday night dance move.
  • Wear a YELLOW shirt to get a shout-out from DJ CeeS. Who said yellow was mellow?
Saturday, July 30 – BLUE SHIRT NIGHT

  • DJ Ups spins live Saturday night.
  • Around 8:30 p.m., meet meet up at Hollywood Boulevard to learn the Saturday night dance move.
  • About 8:45 p.m. show off your new moves to a hot track from DJ Ups.
  • Wear a BLUE shirt to earn a shout-out from DJ Ups, and you’ll never have so much fun bein’ blue.
Sunday, August 1 – PINK SHIRT NIGHT

  • DJ Chase spins live Sunday night.
  • Around 8:30 p.m., don’t miss the Sunday night dance move session on Hollywood Boulevard.
  • About 8:45 p.m., DJ Chase spins while everyone grooves with the new move.
  • Dare to wear a PINK shirt and get your shout-out from DJ Ups. It’s a hot color for some hot music.
So, who’s up for getting their glow on this weekend? Tell us what color shirt you’ll be wearing when the music starts spinnin’!

And if you’ve been in the dark and have no idea what Glow Fest is, here’s a taste of what the experience is like.

Also, there will be a Summer Nightastic event tonight in Lynwood, CA.

A pretty cool Fantasmic! blooper.. well, not really a blooper. It's an alternate ending while they work on Mickey's lift mechanism. Sorcerer Mickey says the last line - Some imagination, huh?

I actually really like this ending..

Hey, that's actually a great ending! It's different, but doesn't really lessen the show any.

That video also reminds me how absolutely awesome Fantasmic! at Disneyland currently is. All of that new tech they've added (digital projections, reworked pyro, lighting, audio, new laser arrays, etc.) over the last three years has really added up and paid off. The show is nearly 20 years old now, but it looks crisp and fresh and modern and still stands up strong next to World of Color next door. Bravo Disneyland!

Glow Fest has been extended through Labor Day, according to Al Lutz

The wildly popular Glow Fest has now been extended through Labor Day, beginning 8/23 in a new format confined to the Sunshine Plaza area. The original end date was 8/22, but huge cocktail and food sales, and the continuing high survey rankings the nightly party gets from visitors, convinced TDA that Glow Fest needed to be extended right through the very end of summer. The TRON version, designed in-house this time, will debut later in September in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot.

A Disneyland spokesman confirmed today that the full format of Glow Fest, including the dance party, will continue through Labor Day.

http://ocresort.ocregister.com/2010/08/18/disney-dance-party-extended-through-labor-day/53283/

Disney California Adventure visitors can keep dancing in the streets for two extra weeks now that the park is extending the nightly parties.

The full Glow Fest, a nightly, neon-splashed performance and interactive dance, now is scheduled to run through Sept. 6, which is Labor Day, said John McClintock, a Disneyland Resort spokeswoman.

Glow Fest is a two-part celebration starting with shows in the Sunshine Plaza near the park’s entrance and continuing with a dance party in the Hollywood Boulevard area. See a previous story and poll about Glow Fest at Disney California Adventure.

Originally, the dance parties were set to end Sunday, while the performances were scheduled to run longer through Labor Day. Now, both parts of Glow Fest are running through Sept. 6.
