Summer Magic with All Our Friends

Y'know - DH is home, having a really late lunch, so we were talking about future family trips to Disney. We have to start limiting when we go after this next school year, as Abby will be moving on to junior high in 2008. Oh, that just doesn't seem possible to me. Anyway, we won't be pulling her out of school after next year anymore. Which limits us to spring break :dazzle: or summertime. And after reading about all the joys of tour groups, that has further been limited to maybe the first full week of June after the kids are out of school.

Eh. Take her out anyways. Especially in September... you aren't in enough of the curriculum by then to make much of a difference.

Hi Bunny! I was here, but we must have missed each other.

Question...did you ever get what Betty sent in the mail?

yes!! I've been meaning to post about it, but my zombie brain totally forgot!

It's an adorable little pillow to hang on the door of the nursery! Too cute!

OH! And speaking of things I forgot to mention, we finished HP too! :sohappy:

I'll post a pic soon!

I liked HP, Marc did too. And it ended exactly the way I thought it would. And I stayed totally unspoiled, so I just guessed really well. I'm just sad that there aren't any more books to look forward to. I hope JKR writes something else... I love her prose!

Not if I have to deal with witchy teachers to take her out - and I've heard tales about attitudes at the junior high.

I'll go in her place, Jen. :lookaroun

And you can also explain why you're going in her place TO her!

Concerning Abby, has anyone ever heard of something called People to People International? I just got a letter inviting her to participate in 'travel and study in Vancouver, Canadian Rockies, and Calgary in the summer of 2008'. I've never heard of it.

But phooey on the teachers. Take her out anyways, you're the parent! :D

Um, She doesn't need to know. Just tell her you both have meetings out of town and she is being watched by that mean old lady down the road. :D

:slurp: I read the whole series. Can I have some pumpkin juice too? (Wait on second thought just get me a beer instead.)

If you get a cookie, what do I get? I read the book out loud! Nearly cost me my voice on a few occasions! :dazzle:

I wanna cookie too!

  Yes Ma'am!

I was just over on the website link they gave me. Apparently it was something founded by Eisenhower to promote education and student leadership. I was looking at the programs they offer grade school kids - one was a trip to Hawaii. Why couldn't she have been picked by that one? :D
