That's a tough one, Susie. I can understand how you'd be uncomfortable w/ a big event like that. A movie or dinner would definately be a much better option. Stinks that he already has the tickets. Maybe his parents could use them or something?

Susan... I agree...

That is a very tough one... and it's even more tough that it's obviously something that would be a lot of fun so it is very difficult to say no to for that reason; but a big event like that; two 14 year olds... that is very difficult.

I do not think you are wrong at all... and hopefully she will understand the circumstances from which you are coming. And definitely agree that, and maybe try to express to her (if you haven't already) that if she really does want to go on a date with him; she should look into going to see a movie and/or dinner... you have no problem with the date; simply what it entails at such a young age.

I need some advice
Ok here it is. My oldest DD (Christina-14 yrs) has been asked to go on a date. Just the boy and her to the Spurs game. They are both the same age. His dad would most likely take them, drop them off and then pick them up. The AT&T center is not quite downtown but not quite in a good neighborhood. I am not comfortable with no adults going. He only has 2 tickets. I had said once before no on a date for other reasons. Now I am saying no on this one. I am hopeing maybe they will maybe go to a movie instead or out to eat. I don't have a problem (right now) with the boy.
Help.
Signed Confused. :lookaroun
Well I think it would be best to let her go. Does she have a cell phone? If she does have her call you after a half hour to tell you everything's okay. If she doesn't, call her. She can't hang up on her mom. The thing is though, in a crowded stadiom, a guy couldn't really put any moves on her. Or it would be really ackward if he did anyways. At the movies or a restauraunt, unfortunately, make out sessions or the classic guy move- the yawn-stretch- would be normal to other people to see in public. If they're in a stadium, there's really not any romantic feeling so nothing could really happen and not be totally weird for the both of them. They would want a quiet place to chat for any romantic stuff, and since a stadium is not romantic, I think she would be safe. If you have a cell phone(and she does too of course), text her occasionally to see how she's doing. I think that's what's best to do, but don't listen to me, I AM a kid, not a mom. I'm just saying what I would do. But Joe's right, you told her what you thought what was best for your daughter.

I did think of that but my thoughts are not of the moves but of the drunks and being so petite they might get into altercations that two 14 yrs old can't handle.
