Suggestions for Solo Trip

As some of you know, I will be going solo this spring for the first time EVER anywhere :dazzle:

That being said, and NOT being on the DDP (I don't eat enough to justify it), where are some of good places (both character and non-character) for a couple of special solo meals. I'm shy, but not so shy that if someone strikes up a conversation, I would melt into my drink.

So far I've been thinking the Cap May (for the clam bake), California Grill (for Wishes), Boma, Narcooses and possibly Mickey's Backyard BBQ (just for a rip-roaring stomping ol' time).

Any suggestions for lunch/dinner would be greatly appreciated, !

If you are shy, try the Sci Fi at MGM. The food is good. It's pretty dark so no one will really notice if you are alone not. Another bonus is if you just want to eat and are not in a very talkative mood the setting is just right. My ex-DH got into huge debate over his hangover from too many margueritas in Mexico at Epcot the night before and I ended up in MGM solo for the day. The setting was perfect. I have to admit it was the best day at Disney the entire trip!

I'm an only child, and always had the pleasure of being able to take off on my own around WDW.
I liked the Columbia Harbor House, especially if you go upstairs, you'll probably be by yourself up there, looking out at the HM. Very nice.

I also recommend grabbing a dog from Casey's, and going and sitting in a secluded area someplace. There used to be a bench up from Casey's toward the castle hidden in the shade, but I don't know if it's still there.

At AK, Tusker House, PizzaFari and Flame Tree Barbecue are nice casual places to eat.

At Epcot, you can order food at the bar or bar tables in UK I've also gotten regular tables there by myself. In France, go around back to the Patisserie for nice sandwiches and pastries.

Thanks much, to everyone.

Does anyone know if the lounges at the deluxes (CR, GF, Poly) let you order light food/appetizers at their bars? I do like to eat but I find the portion sizes to be way too much, and then I feel guilty because I'm wasting food!

ClemsonTigger: Isn't Tusker House to be a table service?
