Suggestions for a picky eater

So our next WDW trip is a year away and we're starting to think about dining. I know! Already! I'm anxious for the trip though, so turning over dining options in my mind helps satisfy me. It's been too long since my last trip!!

I'm going with a first-timer, my boyfriend Jer, and my family, who have been twice before. We've been to several places:

Ohana (2)
Marakesh
Sci-Fi (2)
Akershus
Biergarten
Liberty Tree Tavern
Tony's Town Square
Boma (2)

We'd like to try some new places with our old favorites. I've been making suggestions to everyone to let them know of places we haven't tried that the family might like. The problem is my sister. Every menu I read off, she gets a disgusted look on her face. She's 14 and picky. She likes plain, muted flavors. And she also wants to eat somewhere "themed" in her words. Aka something with a movie tie-in.

Any suggestions? What are some places that meet her requirements but satisfy the rest of my family's desire to try new places and types of foods.

A side note... I really want to try Le Chefs de France.. I saw a picture of the French onion soup.... Yum! :slurp: Any more reviews/opinions?

:ROFLOL:Don't you just love that??

I used to be a VERY picky eater, not to mention a Vegan for a few Disney trips, but I always did well at buffets. My favorite one is Crystal Palace where they have Pooh and Friends at all meals and 1900 Park Fair is good too.
As for theming, I feel like every Disney restaurant has wonderful theming, but if she's looking for a more in-your-face theme like a movie, try Tony's again or maybe Pizza Planet (no ADR).

I would let her just surf the menus independent ad see what appeals to her.
I know it's tough and remember that she can kind of custom order meals if she doesn't like one or more ingredients in the meal. Most likely, she'll find something she'll eat at most restaurants-good luck!

I would suggest letting her know that even though the stuff on the menu sounds gross most of the time you can order things with or without certain items. Like say for example if somewhere has a steak with a weird sounding sauce on it, let her know she can just order the steak plain.
That's usually what I end up doing, in fact I can only think of one restaurant where I didn't change my order from what was on the menu.

I'm a really picky eater. I enjoy - Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Kona Cafe, Tutto Italia, Grand Floridian Cafe and Teppan Edo. Booked for this trip in May are Via Napoli, Cape May Cafe, Sanaa (not for picky eaters...but my boyfriend wants to go) and Ohana. So have her check out those menus...they seem tame. Hope this helps.

my daughter use to be very good at saying no to everything i suggested...be proactive and have her make rec's...ie she gives her opinion but you still pick. don't want to give a teen the power to throw a fit then get their way kind of thing.

I always enjoy reading your little priceless gems of advice. Even if they are just made out of colored plastic. :P

Btw, thanks for the advice so far. I think we may end up letting everyone pick one place they want to eat. That way she can pick whatever she wants. I just am trying to find things on all the menus that she might like that way she won't throw a fit at the other places we eat, thus souring the mood. Like any good teenager. Lol. I was actually thinking of Via Napoli because it's pizza... Pizza is pretty safe with a 14 year-old.

Any more suggestions?
