I'm trying to figure out a place to eat for our 1st anniversary on 9/3/2007 any suggestion on a romantic setting? Even a character dining. I don't want to go to the jacket and tie place. But I have 1 sit down dinner left to book on my DDP and I need Help:zipit:

I have heard the restaurant up in the Contemporary is really nice, full view of the castle, California Grill is it called? Not sure on attire though, I dont think it is jacket and tie... but I could be wrong...

Ohana's I actually went too and LOVED!
The setting is very romantic, but also very entertaining with the Polynesian show and the food is delicious! :slurp:
Royal Table would be nice too, nothing says romance like dining in a castle :king:

I recommend Les Chefs de France in the France showcase in Epcot. There are also some good restaurants on the Boardwalk. Also, you could try out the restaurant on top of the Contemporary, but it might be dressy.

Weather permitting, make ADRs for Rose & Crown in the England section of Epcot...

shoot for 7:45 or so, let them know it's a special occasion and politely beg them to give you a seat in the outdoor patio area. Have a nice long leisurely meal, and you'll already have a seat and maybe a nice glass of wine while enjoying Illuminations.

Great suggestions everyone!!!!!
We already have reservations at Le Cellier later in the week. We did the dinner shnow at ohana's already on a recent trip. Plus have since been to Hawaii and sorry, but disney's show does not measure up to Hawaii's. Sounds like the California Grill would be perfect if they have reservations late enough to catch the 10pm wishes fireworks show. I am trying to avoid the castle as I am sure there are tons of kids there.

Avoid the character places as they will draw more noisy kids.

Nothing wrong with noisy kids enjoying the character, but they do not exactly add to a romantic atmosphere.

How about heading to Africa for something different at Animal Kingdom Lodge? Jiko is expensive, but I'm told great or if you don't mind buffet then Boma offers a fabulous selection in a wonderful atmosphere. Then after dinner you can walk off the meal hand in hand on the various out door trails.

My suggestion?
Peanut butter and jelly sitting on the curb waiting for the bus back to AKL

The only Jacket & Tie restaurant on-site is V&A. Some of the others have Business Casual dress codes [no jeans, t-shirts or sportswear] - a golf shirt and khaki shorts would be acceptable.

Remember that California Grill allows you to return to watch the fireworks if you have eaten there during the night (at least last time I was there). Each time I have been there we were invited back to watch the fireworks. Just show your receipt at the kiosk on the 4th? Floor. I thought it was a great touch and allowed us to plan our night a little easier. Very Romantic dinner. Also if El Rio Del Tiempo is open San Angel Inn has some of the most romantic atmosphere in the parks. Wait the extra time for a water view table but again only if the ride is back open.

What about Citricos at the Grand Floridian? It's not quite jacket and tie, but is very romantic. You can go out to the patio for Wishes.

Do let Disney Dining that it's a special occaison.

We ate at Victoria and Alberts, Citricos and Narcoossee's on our Anniversary trip last July. They were all great but I liked the location of Narcoossee's the best since it was right on the water. We took a water taxi from the Poly and got off right by the restaurant. Very romantic and the food was very good. They even gave use an anniversary tray of pastries for free. Very great experience. Victoria and Albert's was also a great experience and I highly recommend every one do it once but vacations for me are not about stuffiness (hate packing a jacket) so I would only return every third or so trip.
