The Super Bowl-winning quarterback endorsed a name he hopes "people talk about moving forward" two days before the reveal.
Recall back in the day when Herschel was dominant in the mid 1980s summer playing for the NJ Generals at Giants Stadium. Good times in the 100 degree heat when fans were allowed to bring our own coolers full of beer into the stadium. When my friend had connections to get into the VIP Giants club level , it was an air conditioned , fancy sofas, food and booze good times location also. Still had a better time with the masses of fans lower level seating area cheering for the Generals, the NJ Generals melting under the sunny skies. Washington should think of a different name.

I just saw a news story of a helicopter peeking through a window at the stadium and they are painting Commanders on the wall for a reveal tomorrow.

I simply brought this thread back to life ( see post # 86 )because the longtime NFL owner is selling the Washington Commanders.

But seriously….commanders sucks
I'm sure the terrible Washington Commanders will remain in their current location.
Once under new competent ownership they might improve.

I've read that the Wash NFL team have one of the worst workout facilities of any NFL team.
As you know... but some people wouldn't...I'm a Phila. Eagles fan.
Even so, as the OP of this thread I post Washington related stuff now and then in case a Washington Commanders fan cares to read what I am sharing.
So far I am not aware of anyone posting here who would admit to being a Washington Commanders fan

My brother had a roommate in college who was a diehard Redskins fan in the late 1980s early 1990s. The team was really bad in those times. He watched every minute of every game from his dorm room all by himself. I think the team Detroit Lions? whose team was so bad that some fans were wearing in the stadium paper bags over their heads with holes cut out for the eyes nose and mouth.As you know... but some people wouldn't...I'm a Phila. Dan Quinn landed in the Washington area on Sunday night with wife Stacey and was greeted on the tarmac by general manager Adam Peters and his wife Jennifer. Peters hugged his new coach and congratulated him. “I'm so pumped,” Quinn replied.
He is a great coach. As a Dallas fan, it really hurts to lose him.Will this franchise gain the respect of the nation any time soon?

Dan Quinn is a Jersey boy! Born and raised in NJ but Washington is ranked dead last in 2023 in NFL teams in team workout facilities , food and nutrition services for the players . Quinn will have an uphill climb with the Commanders.Will this franchise gain the respect of the nation any time soon?
