Stuff that's overpriced in Disney but you buy anyway

Was thinking of our upcoming holiday in October today and one of the things I thought about was the tradition of Mrs M purchasing me a box of 6 pieces of fudge from 'The Candy Cauldron' at Downtown Disney. Every year I pick my 6 pieces of fudge as a treat whilst inhaling that lovely intoxicating aroma inside the store and every year I think "I can't believe we're paying this amount of money for what essentially is a box of sugar"

And yet each year we return and stump up the money for a little box of magic that I thoroughly enjoy, knowing we're being 'ripped off' but consenting to it nonetheless. Perhaps if I knew anywhere else that sold the same selections cheaper then I'd go there, though maybe subconsciously the idea of buying it in Disney itself is bizarrely more appealing to me? Anyhow I just wondered what others happily buy in Disney knowing that it's overpriced, but buying it anyway?

Everything I ever bought was expensive for whatever it was, lol.

My biggest, most unnecessary, total waste of money, though, has to be pins. I still by one on occasion. I need pin rehab.

"Hello, my name is luv and I'm a pinaholic."

When have you bought fudge anywhere else that you don't feel ripped off!? Fudge always seems to be ridiculously expensive for what it is no matter where you go.

it's the big coffee-table books for me. There are a few that are limited to the parks, otherwsie I just get them on Amazon (sorry Disney :)). But that was back in the days of being a local and trying to pack a 20lb book in a suitcase didnt matter!

Yes I believe there's an element of truth to that. If we get 6 pieces we get 33% off, so instead of paying around $24 we pay around $16 for the 6 pieces. Even with the discount I'm amazed Mrs M is paying that for fudge for me. I've got to say though, it's absolutely gorgeous.

The one that comes to mind is the $16.99 plastic insulated cup (the kind with a screw on top and plastic straw) that is decidedly lesser quality than the $2.99 one I bought at Christmas Tree Shops. But that one doesn't have the monorail, castle and tons of characters on it!

I always come home with a few new T shirts, hats, pins and assorted mementos. I go with the intention of purchasing a sizable amount of things... I have budgeted for them. Yes I know the merchandise has been over priced and Disney is counting on me opening my wallet and pouring out my hard earned cash. Sometimes I debate whether I should or shouldnt buy but in the end I spend what I can afford and dont overextend myself. Sometimes when I get home I think ...man I should have and other times I think I'm glad I didnt. Then go on saving up for next time.

:oops:I always feel like I spend too much on food and drinks at WDW, but that is only because I don't have anything to show for it afterwards.
Souvenirs, however....hm, I can't say the things I pick out are "overpriced" without reason? I mean, yeah, $35 for a towel? But it's an AK towel with cool dragons on it. Bottom line, I really love and keep all the souvenirs I get from all my WDW trips for many years so it seems worth it, IMHO.
