Spitballing here, but couldn't it easily be swapped out (almost directly) for a Star Wars Stunt Show? Change Indy to Luke, an Xwing for the plane, and have Chewie and R2 walk on and you are done. Still can have events, still have the space with little cost.

They just need to tell JJ Abrams to add a scene in the new movie where someone is running through a cave about to get run down by a giant boulder;)

Toy story land makes so much sense here it hurts. This park is starving for family attractions for the younger set, and as people love to point out, it's the only demographic they care about these days. I can absolutely see them putting a version of this here.
Prepare yourself WDWMagic users... Riots are coming.

Now, if they pair this news with the announcement of a whole other "land" as part of a larger expansion, it's not a big deal. We parents of younglings can have a lot places to placate our little ones so they will tolerate the more adult focused areas. Everyone else can skip it and go straight to Lucasland of Carsland or whatever they build.

If they do not announce something else, I am quitting this site for a while, because the rage that will happen here (some of it mine as well) will reach record levels.

And I do not think that there is any concern with any of the RunDisney races. Yes, they run through ther, but there is no way they are anywhere near starting construction on anything.

So is "Lights, Motors, Action" next? I don't see how area of the Studio Backlot Tour could be used for much of anything by itself

Would they really take out those buildings at the top of the shaded portion? Don't they use those for wardrobe repair and float/prop storage?

More then anything I'm worried about Walt's plane. This was the most historic item when it comes to how Walt Disney World was started. What will happen to it?
They could do with it the same that the military does with historic aircraft; the could mount it on a concrete post and put a fountain and/or garden around the base. It could really be moved anywhere on the property - even to one of the resorts. Wondering if it might look good right at the TTC - a LOT of people would see it there...

I borrowed this from the race course.

What if the plan is to just close BLT but keep LMA? The entrance building to BLT and the prop shop are the buildings right above the 9 in the picture above. They also have the buildings between the 9 and the earful tower that have the "tunnel" that the trams go through and have wardrobe and set props. If you take the land covered by these buildings you could likely fit in an expansion of some smaller rides behind TSMM without touching LMA. They would probably just leave Catastrophe Canyon to rot like River Country. Does anyone have a better picture of the area with labels for what is actually in each building?

It was all at once. There was a phase 2 that was never announced.

If Carsland is planned this is basically a way not to announce something if they end up canceling it. It gives them an out.

I thought that the poster on the disboards was lying, but disneysource may actually have a real Disney source. His or her 12 Hollywood Studios Rumors thread may have some real plans that have been leaked.

No I was ready to plant my BS flag yesterday… But I held off. And I really want to stick it somewhere, so I'm gonna put it on top of that mountain.

I'm sad that it's closing, but it's not what it used to be and I remember last time we rode it (which was a while after they dumbed it down), it just felt like it had lost all of it's interest and factors that made it great. I for one hate, HATE the pre recorded spiel. I liked how you used to go into Catastrophe Canyon and it was like you weren't meant to be there and everyone was 'panicking' etc, and then this time it was 'and to your left, you will see how we make a ton of water run down the hill at you and splash you a bit, plus, FIRE!'.
I just hope they don't just close it and leave it for years.
And I fear for Walt's plane. I'd love to see that put somewhere else on property.

I hope it gets moved somewhere to be on display too. Not sure about TTC though, it seems like it would just get in the way.

Only if they were building an aircraft themed restaurant/ bar on property somewhere! Man that would be a great place to put it!

I guess it's just wishful thinking. But it would be great if both Pixar and Star Wars are built in DHS. God knows this park needs something. Most of the attractions on the left and in the back stink.

Star Wars is still a long ways off.

I think that will happen but I think it will happen much closer to the release of the new movie.

Or hell, just make Raiders of the Lost Jedi Temple of Doom a permanent feature

I still think both a Pixar expansion and SW Land will come to DHS. I'm not at all convinced that the list of rides is accurate. I'm doubtful about Indy too.

Well they can't wait to the last second to build it. They missed out on Frozen money because they didn't have anything in place. They should have had attractions for that when it was at the theater. It will be past its prime by the time the Epcot attraction comes out.

Well here's the thing… We can't exactly sPoil elements of the new movie by creating themepark attractions based on them, now can we?
