Stuck in Spaceship Earth

Heck, I'd love to get "stuck" in the upper room of Spaceship Earth. I could admire the scenery for a few minutes, and I don't think I'd mind having to walk down the steps to get out (something to tell your friends about). But nooooo, I always get stuck on haunted mansion right in front of one of those fershlugginer screaming heads that pop up every three seconds in the graveyard...

Yarrgh!
(silence)
Yarrgh!

Yarrgh!
(silence)
Yarrgh!
(Repeat ten mintues)

I've gotten stuck there a few times too. I kept thining to myself it would be a good time to jump out and play a little game of whack a mole. :hammer: I don't think the CM's would be to pleased if I did that.

I would like everyone to remember...that every now and then...it takes someone 3-5 or even 10 minutes to get onto a ride...now 10 minutes is crazy rare but does happen.

Yep and it does not bother me at all. Everyone deserves to do the attractions. :)

This last trip to WDW was the FIRST time I have actually never stopped on SSE. I was in such shock after I got off that it went non-stop. Every other time I've been on it it has stopped many times. One time I remember was during the really steep ascent and then another near the Sistine Chapel scene I believe.

Awwww Spaceship Earth! I love it sooooo much. I go on it all the time, but for some reason it very raely stops temporarily for me. Once it did at the kid selling newspapers and then once in Rome. DOes anyone think that burning Rome smells like turkey legs? Just out of curiosity. I don't know, maybe I'm crazy. Turkey legs.

The last few times I have stopped at Rome burning they have turned off the smell until we started again.

The place I loved to stop was the Horizons orange grove. :D

Turkey Legs. Thats a memory I tried to block out of my head. Coming out of Buzz and seeing that stand with them and thinking it was a good idea to get one before heading over to Big Thunder. Not the brightest move of the day:hurl:

Warning: thread drift:

I love it when someone finishes eating their turkey-leg...then just heads on with their life and manages to get EVERYTHING lubed-up with turkey juice!

Handrails...
Handles on rides...
doors...

I was at WDW August 16-21st....when I did ride Spaceship Earth, I believe each time it slowed down to almost a halt. One time it actually fully stopped for about 2 minutes right before we got out of the tunnel at the top where you see earth and the top of the dome.

Such a great ride! I miss the smell of burning Rome :(

I don't think I have ever been on Spaceship Earth without it getting stuck at least twice per ride. I have always wondered what is wrong with this ride that it keeps doing that. I always get stuck around the caveman area and a few times backwards. Too bad I can't get stuck more often in Rome (I love that burning smell :) ) Then I wouldn't mind it so much.

4 more days till the Poly!! :sohappy:

I know that on our last trip, we were stuck right after the Rome part and I noticed that when the ride stopped, so did the smoke that caused the wonderful burning smell. I suppose they don't want to overwhelm those that don't particularly like it.

Yup. I saw an elderly lady that had to be carried out of a POTC boat by her family at the unload. It took about 5 minutes to get out of the boat and back into her wheelchair.
