Strollers- SHOCKING

I was absolutely shocked by the number of strollers that had all manner of bags and purses left in them during rides! You walk by the "stroller parking" areas and just see these things left out there for the whole world to see. I know that we're in Disney World and that can lull us into a sense of security, but let's face it there are some unscrupulous characters (no not Maleficent) out there and we should all be careful.

I gather that you've also read all the threads where members report items going missing from strollers (and elsewhere) - makes you wonder who is the more surprised

We left our empty camera bag and then a backpack in our stroller. If someone wanted to steal a backpack full of diapers, wipes, and sunscreen... well, then have at it I guess.

I would assume the people that leave their bags don't have anything in them that can't be easily replaced.

I wish there was some sort of "honesty" spray that everyone could get sprayed with before they enter WDW property. Lets face it, just because we vacation at "the happiest place on earth" doesn't mean that the people that steal are going to be on their best behavior!

Same here. In all the years we have used strollers we never had anything go missing.

When we went with our kids last year, we took our camera with us on all rides and had our money in the camera bag. The diaper bag was all that we left in the stroller and, like previous posters have said, all we had in there were diapers and wipes.

I always left my diaper bag in the stroller. If someone really needed the wipes, diapers and change of clothes then let them have it. Anything of value went with us. Although on our first day of our last trip, I accidentally left the camcorder in the stroller. When I realized it I had a panic attack. Luckily no one noticed it.

We have also always left the Diaper Bag on the back on the stroller, and taken the camera and wallets with us, if anyone had stolen the bag they would not of gained much and may of got a nasty shock on more than one occassion thanks to kids spilling drinks , and other accidents on clothes :lookaroun

I'm the same as most on here, I leave a backpack with a spare set of clothes for the kids on the stoller. It also has little non essentials like sunblock, a small first aid kit and bubbles in it. No big deal if it went missing, but luckily it never has. I think it helps that there is usually an attendant rearranging stollers and most of the stoller parking areas.

On Christmas Day I accidentally left our daughters pin lanyards while we ate dinner at LTT. It took over 20 minutes to work our way back to the stroller AFTER dinner (I didn't even think about it until then) and guess what??? They were still there. Like others have said, we have always left our backpack in the stroller. Nothing of real value..wipes, sunblock, diapers etc.

On Monday, we noticed that someone left their digital camera on the top of their disney stroller. I couldn't believe it was just left out like that.

We haven't left anything of value on a stroller, however, my mom has literally lost her change purse with her license and about `100$ in it around the winnie the pooh ride and luckily, it was brought to city hall with everything still in it! When we went to see if it was returned, we were just hoping for the license and the money would have been icing on the cake!

Never had anything gone missing in the stroller. I've left lots of stuff in it over the years. Like most people, it's usually replaceable, non-expensive things. If you haven't travelled with little ones, it's hard to get your head wrapped around just how much stuff the family is carrying and how nice it is to leave the backpack/diaper bag behind while doing something.

We just got back last night from our two week trip to WDW! Several notes on strollers...there were still lots of rental strollers in the parks, more singles, but lots of doubles as well. More of the disney red/black strollers being purchased and used in the parks as well.
Strollers, strollers, everywhere
not a step to take
strollers, strollers, everywhere
my ankle sure to break ;)

seriously, the four of us went TWO FULL WEEKS and never had ONE RUN in with a single stroller! So either we are quick on our feet or stroller pushers are getting much better!

The one thing I did realize was that I much prefer toddlers IN strollers vs. pushing strollers or walking around aimlessly.

I am guilty of leaving bags in strollers too - but like everyone else, it is usually meaningless stuff like sunscreen and wipes. Money is always in our pocket as well as a camera or anything like that. I never really gave it much thought, figuring that it would take balls to take something out of a stroller when there are usually so many people around to see it and possibly the owner (not that it doesn't happen, I just don't think that it does as often as it could). There are lots of honest people in Disney too. My friend went last year and took her kids into the restroom. She set her camera down near the sink and just got busy washing 3 sets of hands and general stuff. She walked out without her camera and realized it only 5 minutes later. When she went back, it was gone. They were heartbroken about some lost pictures of course, but two days later, they had their camera back in their hands in perfect condition with all of their pics still on it!

We leave stuff in our strollers all the time--it's one of the reason we bring or rent a stroller--so we have a portable place to leave stuff we don't want to drag on the rides with us... Usually it's stuff nobody is going to steal--like a change of clothes for our kids or snacks. Things like camera bags go with us wherever we go...and I wear they dorky waist-pack for my money and credit cards... I don't even carry a purse that I could accidentally leave on a ride.

Frankly--if you leave NOTHING in your stroller you are more apt to have the entire stroller taken!!! You need to leave stuff in it for easy identification purposes.
