Strollers and Life Jackets...

We're staying at Wilderness Lodge and I was wondering if anyone knew how readily available life jackets were for the boat ride to/from MK and the Contemporary? I can't find anything online that's really informative.

In that same vein- how do the boats, busses, and monorails handle strollers? Do you stow them someplace when boarding? It seems silly to ask, but being prepared for the procedures for these little things can help streamline the process and save stress and time. Thanks!

I don't know about life jackets. I've never seen them although I'm sure they must be on board somewhere.

As far as strollers, they can be rolled on and placed in an area toward the back without seats so that you don't have to fold them up. There's also handrails so that you can stand back there too.

Strollers must be folded before boarding a bus. You hold the stroller. Don't wait until the bus pulls up to fold the stroller - prepare ahead of time.

In most cases you can roll them onto a monorail, but you could be asked to fold them.

On the smaller boats you usually must fold the stroller, on the larger ones you USUALLY can keep them open.

Boats have plenty of life jackets and other gear. Your child is much safer when not strapped into a stroller when on a boat.

very helpful info. Thank you. I totally agree about kids not being strapped into strollers on boats. While the odds of an accident are slim- best to be safe!

This is just kind of a repeat, but thought it might help to word it differently.

I've never been asked to fold my stroller on a monorail. Always just roll right on, but it is true that you *might* have to fold it, as Disney has the right to ask you to fold it if they need to.

Life jackets are "stowed" on board the boats. You won't put one on your child when boarding the boat. You would get one out of a bin (usually under the bench seat you are sitting on) "in case of emergency."
On the smaller "resort loop" boat (WL, Fort Wilderness, Contemporary, Magic Kingdom), you'll have to fold your stroller. On the larger - straight to the MK boat, you can leave it open, but as others said you'll want to take your child out first. :) Have a great trip!
